Details: Nike slingshot irons- graphite- RM reg. flex Cobra 440 sz driver- NV 75 reg. graphite. -**-Graphite Design fac. shaft Reg. RM flex

Purchase: Well this may be a long story so I apologize in advance... Sometimes you are just in the right place at the right time. I had a call from a friend how a guy had some clubs to get rid of and really knew nothing about golf.... I called and he said they were Nike irons, a driver, some putters, and a bag and he needed 100 bucks. I went by and they were filled with brand new Slingshots, a new Cobra 440 sz driver, 2 awesome puttters, and to top it off dozens of Pro v1 golf balls... It didn't take long I handed him the loot and got the heck outta there. Really I intended to make some cash on the purchase is why I bought the clubs.
Pros: I've got 2 sets of Pings- one being the G2s and nothing comes close to the Nike Slingshots... They hit every ball long high and straight with relative ease... Just to be sure I let my nephew hacker hit em and he hit them just a as well... The Cobra driver was sensational as well- easy to hit long and straight... I've had some offers on the clubs but I simply can't part with them.... Actually I put my Pings on the trading blocks...
Cons: That I didn't find them sooner.
Quality: Tremendous- beautiful looking, easy to hit clubs...

Review Summary: If you want to improve your golf game you've got to try the Slingshot irons... They go deadly straight, and high launch, but tons of distance... It's really hard to miss with these... You'll hit more greens, and have a ton more fun... My swing really has turned around thanks to these clubs... I've revamped my swing with additional thanks to the Amazing Golf book I purchased off of the internet. I've got to mention it as well, as it's helped me to break 70 for the first time... I purchased the book at shootamazingolf.com for $19.00... Well thanks for listening and great golfing to you all.

Purchase: I bought these clubs off ebay for $400 shipped! The guy that was selling the clubs won them at a tournoment and already had 3 sets so he was getting rid of them, and they where never hit!
Pros: Forgivness, look, feel, length and ever thing else about the club!
Cons: Nothing yet
Quality: Great look and quality.

Review Summary: Best clubs I have ever hit with! Most forgiving clubs.A+++++++++

Purchase: I bought my clubs at Uinta Golf in Sandy Utah. I had purchased a set of RAC LT three weeks earlier and just did not like the performance. They made me a deal and I picked up the Nike Slingshots $599 retail.
Pros: I really like the forgiveness of this club. They are easy to hit and even slight miss hits go fairly good. They are well built and unlike other reviews I have read they do have good feel. The long Irons are the best part...anyone can hit PW through 6 but the long irons 4, 5, and 3 made the difference for me. I play long par 3's and those clubs get allot of use
Cons: It is difficult to get over the look from above, very thick top line especially compared to the RAC LT. But once you get used to it and hit a few great shots you won’t care.
Quality: Nothing bad to say here, they came flawless and clean. Nike is onto something here.

Review Summary: It looks like I have found the set to last for awhile. They hit real good from the deep grass and great from the short stuff. With these Irons I don't plan on hitting too many from the deep grass. The first couple of rounds I played lowered my score by 3 to 4 strokes. Unless you are a low handicapper 4 or less then this is the club for you. I only rated a 4 because I don't think a 5 has been made yet.

Purchase: I bought these irons on the internet after reading tons of great reviews on them. Im a relatively new golfer with a 20 handicap. I just couldnt wait to get these shipped to me. Got them and went straight to my homecourse and unpacked them at the driving range. First ball: Very high, good length, straight but... dead.. Hmm. Ok so nomatter how perfect I hit the ball with these irons its just... a dead feeling at impact. Im so dissapointed. I had tried the Rac LT's from Taylor Made and my god the diffrence is huge.
Pros: Not alot to be honest. Ok so its cool to go long and straigh on every single shot, and im sure many want that. The ballflight is also just too high. Windy conditions and your game suffers greatly.
Cons: I dont like the weight, just too dang heavy. I dont like the looks at adress. Looks like a shuffle. I dont like the dead feel at impact. There is just not any feel there what so ever.
Quality: Quality seems first hand. No scratches whatsoever yet which is good as im going to sell them.

Review Summary: New golfers that want to go high straight and long and at the same time dont care at all about feeling of impact. Golfers that play rare to casually and isnt looking to improve their game much. Golfers that need tons of forgivness. This is the club for you. For avid golfers who seeks more in this game then just clubbing a ball - dont buy them. At the pricetag you can get WAY better clubs that will make you smile inside every time you hit them. Like the RAC LT's for instance...

Purchase: $400 barely used on E-Bay - Great buy!!!
Pros: I paid $400 for a barely used set off of E-Bay. I have used these clubs for about 15 rounds or so and must say, they are truely great irons. I read two reviews on here about that were negative, but realize that these folks haven't a clue about golf. One guy claims "they felt cheap" well when you hit the ball correctly and feel merely nothing, thats NOT cheap, thats quality! Very well made and feel great hitting the ball. The only drawbacks would be the added height to those who don't want that, the whistle during back swing if that bothers you, and finally beware when you clean these clubs....if you submerse them in water, its hard to get the moisture out of the back cavity and some surface rust may develope in the crevices. Overall, the best irons I have hit, by far!
Cons: The only drawbacks would be the added height to those who don't want that, the whistle during back swing if that bothers you, and finally beware when you clean these clubs....if you submerse them in water, its hard to get the moisture out of the back cavity and some surface rust may develope in the crevices.
Quality: High quality

Review Summary: Highly recommended from the novice to experienced golfers alike!

Purchase: $799 Canadian on Ebay
Pros: Nike Slingshots were a much awaited purchase. Bought march 2004 when there was still 2 feet of snow on the ground. The appearence of these clubs are excellent. Appear to be well made. I hit a high accurate shot with these irons.
Cons: Most people are claiming an extra 20 yards but I find I hit the ball higher but 10 yards shorter than my titelest DCI's. Also the large sole makes it hard/impossable to hit a flop shot-which may be in my best interest not to try.
Quality: Recieved the clubs in perfect condition and after on summer of play still no problems arise.

Review Summary: My game has improved since getting the slingshots. High shots that stay put when they land. Love the look and feel. If they were stolen tommorow I would buy nike slingshots again.

Purchase: I acquired these clubs at a local golf retailer in St. Petersburg, Florida in early December, 2004. I paid $899 for the entire set (3-SW). My hope was that in purchasing this set of clubs I could find some game improvement that might help me eventually lower my handicap from 12 to single digits.
Pros: I like the way the club looks when I stand over it, like the standard grips on the club and the "whistle" on the backswing is kinda neat.
Cons: These clubs hit the ball high. Very high. Too darn high. And short. I found myself hitting 4 and 5 irons from 140 yards out, when I used to hit 7 or 8 irons from that distance. Also, the regular graphite shaft just didn't have enough power in it. When you strike the ball at the bottom of your downswing, it seemed like the shaft had already released all its energy and there was no power to be released at the point of impact. Consequently I hit the ball consistently high and short.
Quality: The clubs seemed to be well made and of high quality. I'm just not sure how good the shafts are.

Review Summary: After much time at the practice tee, two lessons from my golf pro, and playing about 15 rounds with these clubs, I've decided to sell them. It's obvious that I'm not going to improve my handicap or level of play with Nike Slingshot. I'll consider it an expensive experiment that just didn't pan out.

Purchase: I bought these irons off ebay for about 400.00. They were used but in awesome shape.
Pros: These clubs are very easy to hit. I am a 11 handicap and these clubs are awesome. I have not played at a course with them yet, only at a driving range. I was surprised how much i liked them. Highly recommend.
Cons: Nothing.
Quality: They seem to be very sturdy and very well constructed.

Review Summary: I would recommend these clubs to just about anyone. If you are interested i would keep your eye out on ebay for some good prices to cpome up.

Purchase: I purchased my Slingshot Irons from my local pro at Great Gorge Country Club in Vernan,nj. I bought the graphite and paid I think 650
Pros: I like the results. I am hitting my irons further than I ever have before and the mishits are still leaving me in spots that I can score from. My hdcp has dropped from 12 to 9.
Cons: My big problem was adjusting to how far I was hitting them. I used to hit a 6 iron about 155 now I hit it 163-165 so it cost me some shots initially.
Quality: Quality is first rate

Review Summary: The bottomline is I think that if you are in the market for new clubs and you don't hit the slingshots you are doing yourself a disservice. The knock I heard about the Nike's is that you can't work them which I think is total BS.

Purchase: I just knew from the looks I would love these irons, looked good, felt good until I hit them!! They felt dead, cheap, lost yardage am glad I tried thes on a driving range instead of a mat, dont waste your time and money on these, wonder how much Nike paid Godl Digest to get a iron of the year award?
Pros: They looked good.
Cons: The lack of feel, distance lost, lack of control, cheap feeling
Quality: The looked well constructed.

Review Summary: unless they are free, try they at a driving range and NOT on a mat and net.

Purchase: Bought set on E-Bay for $495.00. Plus $25.00 for shipping, a great deal compaired to local retail prices ($699.00 + tax)
Pros: These irons have a very distinct feel when hitting balls from just about any lie. I find it very difficult to mis-hit shots. My length really hasn't changed, but the accuracy has easily doubled. The ball flight is high, with very soft landings. Don't look for alot of extra roll on short irons.
Cons: The grips. After 2 rounds I replaced them with WINN grips and now I LOVE the feel
Quality: Assembled in China! Quality seems to be above standard. The design and workmanship is very pleasing to look at at address.

Review Summary: For anyone who wishes to increase their enjoyment, but isn't a scratch golfer, should buy these clubs. The ability to "work" the ball isn't as easy as with other clubs. I greatly recommend these to the "average" golfer.

Purchase: I got these irons from a buddy of mine who is a pro at a private country club. He knew the guys who own an online ebay golf supply store, so he was able to get them for around cost, $450. Before these clubs I had been playing with some no name irons that were almost as old as I am (22). So I felt it was time for me to get some clubs that were "up to date" and would help me with my game, I'm currently about a 16 handicap. I started looking up clubs online seeing what prices I could get some off ebay for, and of course I started by looking at ping, taylor made, etc. I noticed the Nike Slingshots on ebay and started doing some research on them. After liking what I read I went to a local golf store and hit them, after that I was instantly in love with the clubs.
Pros: What I like most about the club is their extreme forgiveness on shots. You can make horrible contact and the ball will still typically be in good shape, unlike my old clubs. It is extremely easy to get the ball in the air with these clubs, I hardly ever get worm burners like I use to get all the time with my old clubs. The clubs have a great feel to them and are very light, opposite of what you might think by looking at them. I got the steel shafts on mine because I like the stiffer feel with irons. Also these clubs are great for all skill levels, my friend who is a club pro and shoots consistantly below 70 has hit with them several times at the range and agrees with me on how these clubs hit and feel. The clubs have added distance to my shots and shaved shots off my score.
Cons: After about 30+ rounds with the clubs I really have no complaints about the clubs. The stock grips are alright, I might upgrade those, but other than that I really have no complaints at all.
Quality: The quality of the clubs is great. They are beautiful clubs and I constantly get remarks from other golfers about them. They look and feel very solid. They are strong clubs and can hold up to a beating on the course. When first looking at them they would appear to be heavier than they are, but once you pick one up you will see they are much lighter than they appear.

Review Summary: These clubs are great. One of the best purchases I have made for my golf game. I would even pay the store prices for these clubs if I had too. They have helped improve my game dramatically. I feel much more confident going out there knowing that these are in my bag. I would recommend these clubs to anyone in the market for some new irons.

Purchase: I purchased these irons at a discount golf shop in Hilton Head, SC. I paid $550.
Pros: I love the forgiveness of these irons. I have only been golfing for about 2 years, and I had tried many different irons before buying these. None of the other irons gave me the confidence or reliability that the Slingshots offered. After playing about 10 rounds with the Slingshots, I saw my score decrease significantly.
Cons: There really isn't anything I don't like about these clubs. I guess if I have to say something it would be the price. Considering these clubs are intended for the "beginning" golfer, it's hard to warrant paying that kind of price for a set of irons.
Quality: Absolutely beautiful clubs! Nothing else like them on the market. Unique design and feel will definitely be noticed on the course.

Review Summary: These clubs are perfect for anyone serious about golf and serious about game improvement. If you're going to spend the money, I would definitely suggest buying these irons. Game improvement was at the top of the list of reasons Nike designed these clubs!

Purchase: Had my heart set on forged clubs but after reading all the reviews and seeing all the ads I purchased these instead at a local Nevada Bobs store who price-matched a price I found online. Paid $597 plus an additional $80 for the gap/attack wedge. Standard grip/reg flex steel shafts. Came with a 30 day play guarantee.
Pros: Clubs were nicely balanced and easy to swing. Very attractive overall.
Cons: Since I had my heart set on forged irons, I'm not sure I gave these clubs a totally fair chance, but just didn't get the feel I was looking for. Had a hard time getting used to the bulky look and the swooosh of air in the cavity back as you swung the club. ALso seem to have lost 5-10 yds per club. I'm not swinging the greatest yet, and it's been cold out when I've gotten to play so that may factor into the yardage lost.
Quality: Fit and finish were very attractive. Nice innovative design. Construction was very good.

Review Summary: Bottom line I think these clubs are decent for most mid- high handicappers. With the price match they seemed to be a reasonable value. But because of the dislikes and having my heart set on the forged feel, I returned them after 4 rounds/20 days and got store credit which I put towards a set of forged Mizuno MX-23's.

Purchase: Purchased at a local Demo Day for $699. The price was excellent as Nike gave me the 3-P and included the A wedge all in graphite along with a Nike LSU Logo Golf Bag for $699. What they had been offering was the 3-P and a green Nike Carry Bag for $699 which was an excellent price. I was able to upgrade the bag and get the A wedge. Living in Texas I insisted on the Logo bag to mess with some friends. I was surprised they upgraded the bag with no fuss.
Pros: In 1999 I bought Calloway Tungston Titanium Irons and loved the ugly things. Since then I've bought Ping I3's, Hogan CFT's, Calloway BB2's, Cobras, TA3's, RAC's and Mizunos. Each time I've gone back to the ugly Calloway TT's. My kids and friends have benefited with the past purchases. I was recently fitted at a Demo Day by Ping, Calloway, Nike, Cobra, Cleveland, Mizuno and Titlest. The Ping G2's felt real good but the Nike Slingshots felt the best and were ugly as well. First the Nike Rep had me hit several shots with my 6 iron. Then he had me hit several Nike Slingshot 6 irons and was able to get me to slice, hit straight, hit the perfect fade and everything in between including low and high. He precission fit the 6 iron to me, both the club head and shaft. He spent about 40 minutes with me and there were about 900+ folks at this demo day. Nike and Calloway had several Reps and the other manufacturers had only 2 people. Over the past year I've been anywhere from a 10 to 18 handicapper. The first time out I shot a 75 where I was averaging an 83. I went to another country club and shot a 73 where I've hit around 81 in the past. We went to Diamante in the Arkansas mountains and I shot a 76 where I've shot 90 in the past. Diamante is one long tough course at over 7,100 yards. At other club I shot a 75 where I've shot 81 my last two times out and never better than a 78 in 5 years. At a local par 69 course I shot a 69! My first 9 rounds all in the 70's and a 69 since purchasing these clubs. I haven't played this well in 25 years. They hit high and a club or two longer than the Calloway TT's. Ping says I'm an orange/2 degree upright. All other fittings say standard. Nike had me standard but fitted the shaft to me. What a difference, I went to the Demo Day thinking I was going to purchase Ping G2's and ended up with another ugly set of fantastic clubs. I may pass my Calloway TT's on this time.
Cons: Clubbing from a 6 to a 7 or 8, same in all other ranges. The length may be from the shaft fitting but the Slingshots are stronger degree than a lot of other clubs. They are ugly. My MGA has nicknamed me Sandy. These clubs have really brought my handicap down to where I always felt it could be.
Quality: In the past Nike was known for poor quality shafts. If you took their old forged driver and put in a good shaft, it became a decent driver. Same for their irons. This time they've got decent shafts and are able to custom fit/fine tune them to the player. The heads may be ugly but the feel is excellent when you hold and swing the club. They seem to be put together very well.

Review Summary: IF YOU BUY THESE CLUBS (or any set of irons) GET CUSTOM FITTED. NEVER BUY CLUBS DIRECTLY OFF THE SHELF unless you've been fitted. Make sure the shaft is fitted to you as well as the type of head. I am now a firm believer in this. After being fitted to these clubs, and I mean fine tuned, I am dropping strokes off my handicap everytime out. Maybe other clubs custom tuned would work as well but these felt the best in hand. That helps too.

Purchase: Paid $1300 Canadian at Golf Town.
Pros: Not an awful lot these days. In the beginning I suppose it was the swoosh and looks of the irons that sold me. I demoed the irons and they felt good enough to purchase.
Cons: Pretty much everything. Playing enough rounds now only tells me that these clubs are not worth the price and certainly my game has not benefitted from them. A true bust in overall performance. I am very disappointed and more angry with myself for getting suckered in by the hype.
Quality: Construction is fairly decent with equally decent looks. The club heads appear quite bulky and eventually that will prove to be their downfall in terms of confidence.

Review Summary: Disappointing and certainly they did not live up to the hype and my own expectations. I should have taken more time and demoed the set longer before investing that much money. A mistake.

Purchase: I purchased these irons fom pro golf discount after hitting just the 6 iron. I paid $699 for steel shaft irons.
Pros: I love everything about these clubs. I've never hit my long irons as well as with the Nike clubs. Even with mis-hits these clubs are very forgiving. They've lowered my score by at least 5 and I have a new found confidence when playing with better golfers. The Nike irons, though less expensive, play like $1000+ irons.
Cons: There's nothing I don't like about these Nike irons.
Quality: these are a very well built club.

Review Summary: Hit this club before you buy anything else. You won't be disappointed!

On 2004-01-26, Clifford Lanphier rated this Nike SlingShot a 4...(2693)

Purchase: Purchased a Navy Exchange in Hawaii for $699. They have a graphit reg flex mid kick shaft. Previously using a cheap set of Big Bertha knock offs.
Pros: Very solid feel. They added at least 15 to 20 yards when compared to former clubs. Previously had a strong fade to slice with anything longer than a 6 thus did not even carry a 3 iron and only used a 4 iron to bump out of the rough under trees. Now I am consistently getting the 3 and 4 irons into the air for 180+ yards and straight. I also find it very difficult to hit fat shots.
Cons: After 2 weeks and 7 rounds, no dislikes yet.
Quality: The only minor gripe is that the cavity on the long irons is somewhat difficult to clean. (been raining a lot lately)

Review Summary: Superb clubs. They have me hitting much better approach shoots, thus far fewer pitchs/chips to the green. Lowered my average by 4 to 5. It is difficult to judge them as a 5 considering my comparison point is probably only a 2 or 3 thus I give them a 4.

On 2003-12-14, Daniel Schnider, Switzerland rated this Nike Slingshot a 5...(2601)

Purchase: Bought these irons from Golfgods (www.bestvaluegolf.com) via Internet. Paid the regular $799. Since living in Switzerland, this is much cheaper than in local pro shops. Had a special wish, orderd 4 to PW, (graphite reg flex/mid kick) since I use a Nike CPR Ironwood to replace my 3 iron. No problem for the supplier.
Pros: Used the clubs yesterday for the first time. Excellent feeling, very easy to hit Added at least 20 to 25 yards compared to my former clubs. The clubs enabled me to hit consistently accurate shots. Very good approach qualities, the ball stops right where it should.
Cons: The sole is a bit difficult for fat shots.
Quality: Did not find anything to bother about.

Review Summary: I give these clubs a clear 5 since they clearly improved my game. I recommend these irons for any mid handicaped golfer like me, wanting to improve his game and gain much more fun.
