Purchase: I bought them on Ebay for $480 (including shipping) in Aug, 2004. I got the Slingshot 3-PW with stiff steel shaft to replace my Nike CPR iron set. Nothing wrong with CPR set, they worked well, its just that, I have improved so much, I need new sets. I reduced my handicap from 30 to 16 in 4 month ^_^
Pros: I felt in love with them when they came out. But I knew I was not good enough to use them, so I used the CPR set at first. I love they way they look, but was NOT sure about the new tech till I hit with them in a local golf store. They felt great. I soon bought a set, and tested them. I do agree with another reviwer, Nike struck GOLD with this innovation. Shots are solid, super straight, and high. Added yardage, and its actually light (due to the speedstick). I really do not know what else to say, this set is just amazing, and cheap compared to Callway VFT.
Cons: Nothing much. Hmm... Except that the increments of yardage given by each clubs are too close. They are all like 10 yrds apart for me. The PW gives like 150 yrds. my 5 Iron = 200 yrds... well it kind of sucks when their is NO 60* wedges for the Slingshot available since my SW is well over 120 yrds : ((( PS I am only 5'6 and 150 lbs. I really hope they come out with an 60* wedge.
Quality: Great quality for the little amount of investment. People can actually be able to hit their 3 or 4 Irons that can pass the distance given by their 5 irons ^_^

Review Summary: I do think this is the set that most of players will charish for a long long time. I say probably 97% of the slingshot users will find them hitting straighter, more solid, and increase in distance. It does NOT mean that 3% are lying. Just remember, we all have different height, weight, skill levels, hitting styles, and age.
