Purchase: Purchased from Edwin Watts for $550 USD. I was a 24 Handicap player who needed irons to improve my game. Pros: These irons are great. I have lowered my scores by 6 strokes since I purchased these irons. Very easy to hit. I completely recommend these irons to high handicappers! I have the 5 - PW Slingshot set, with the Nike CPR woods replacing my 3 and 4 irons. Cons: The other critics of these irons are right about the PW. Not as much feel around the greens as you would like. This can be solved by having a decent loft wedge in your bag. Quality: The quality of the clubs is great so far. I have had these irons for a month now, and have played six rounds of golf. No issues thus far. Review Summary: Great clubs for high handicap players. Pair these up with Nike CPR Woods and its a great bag for golfers like myself.

Purchase: Purchased my set of slingshot irons from Dicks Sporting Goods. I purchased them at the store. I have played the same set of irons for about 10 years so I was looking to replace them with a new set. I saw the ads for the slingshots so I went to a pro-shop to try them out. I later purchased them at Dicks for $699. Pros: The clubs have a very nice look about them at set up. They set up to the target square and in good position. They swing very easily and shots are dead on target. Distance is good with a high ball flight. The occasional off center hit still produces a good shot, very forgiving. Cons: The only negative thing I can say about these clubs are the grips. This a personal preference but I do not really care for the feel of them. They work just fine but they are not my favorite. Everything else is great. Quality: I bought the steel shaft clubs in regular flex. The shafts are high quality and work well with the club. Club head has a thick sole with slight offset and are of high quality. The feel from iron to iron is consistant and are extreemly easy to hit. The quality of the clubs I would rate very high Review Summary: The bottom line is that Nike has hit a home-run with these irons. They look nice, swing easy, are the most accurate irons I have ever played. The quality is high the price not to bad. I would recommend them to players of all levels. I'm a 7 handicap. You owe it to yourself to at least give them a try. I will not be parting with mine any time soon. On 2004-04-09, Rick Traskos rated this Nike Slingshot Irons a 5...(3331)
Purchase: Golfer's Warehouse Hartford, CT
Golfer's Warehouse employee's ( Rob )
recommendation. Paid $599. Pros: I am a 19 handicapper that had been playing 20 year old Ping Eyes. Went to the Warehouse to buy some Callaway Iorns but after hitting the Callaways and Nike Slingshots, I bought the Slingshots and Headed to Hilton Head to try them out. Very please with the result. I even can draw the ball sometime and the slices may go right but unusually, with out the deadly tail. Definitely an improvement. Are they better than the Callaways? I'm not sure but I am sure pleased with the Nike Slingshots I bought. Cons: great feel from the 3 through the SW. I can even hit the sandwedge off the fairway like a lob wedge which I could not do with my old Ping sandwedge. Quality: Steel shafts Review Summary: I was nervious about not buying Callaway because I liked their Wood technology. I am not nervious any more. Took all of my Callaway buddy's money. Purchase: My uncle played golf in college for Tarelton Universtiy. I lives on a golf course and plays often even today. He bought a set of the Nike Slingshots and told me to try them out. I purchased a set for a little over $625 in Lubbock and fell in love. These irons are much better than the knock off Clevlands I had been playing with. Pros: Solid feel to the club. Perfect weight that allows you to hardly even try. No more need for that heavy three iron. I can pull out of a thick rough with the Nike 5 iron and watch it sail to the green. The low center of gravity has me begging for a tough long shot, just to see if the club can pull it off. Cons: I can't say that I have one. I have only played with these clubs for a little over 2 months now. Can't complain when you pull them out of the bag and everyone stares in awe! Quality: The back cavity is somewhat difficult to pull grass out of. I found out that a BOB THE BUILDER kids tooth brush works well. Review Summary: Amazing enginering on these clubs. I have improved my game by strokes under par. I would highly recommend these clubs for anyone to try. I was nervous at first with buying my first set of big named clubs and thought they might feel and work the same as any other, but I was wrong. Nike has developed a superb set this time! Purchase: Purchased at local golf store for 700.00 Pros: The irons launch the ball with great hieght, without ballooning. They have a solid feel and a nice swing weight. The feel is good, but somewhat muted on off-center shots. You can tell you hit the ball thin or fat, but your not sure just how bad. With that being said, thin shots don't rattle your hands or vibrate harshly like some other irons. I did notice that the feel on chips/pitches was still good...the feel was only muted some on mishits....pured shots were fine. Thin shots carry with good distance and still have some height on the shots. The long irons are fantastic, even mishits are still pretty good shots. On mishits, the irons were still fairly accurate and forgiving...reducing slices to about 20 feet offline (that's pretty good in my book). The quality of the irons is high. They have a very nice textured grip, a good shaft made by True Temper, and are pleasing to the eye. The sole of the club is wide, however you don't notice it at setup. I had no trouble working the ball in either direction and the ball flight was consistent. Straight shots were just that, dead straight. These are the easiest hitting irons I have tried to date. I have tried about every brand out there and nothing has compared to these so far. If you want a real score improving iron I would suggest these before anything else. Simply put, I don't know of any iron out there that is as easy to hit...PERIOD! Cons: Feel on mishits is somewhat muted. You can tell you hit the ball thin or fat, but your not sure just how bad it was. Quality: Construction was excellent and quality is second to none. Review Summary: These irons turn your bad shots into decent shots. They are easy to hit, especailly the long irons. I want to have more fun on the course and lower your scores.....these are the irons for you! On 2003-12-02, Bill from L.A. rated this Nike Slingshot Irons a 4...(2579)
Purchase: Paid $595 for new Nike Slingshot Irons with Graphite shafts on Ebay! Pros: Each club in the set provides a solid, confident feel at address. Longer shots seem more fluid, and shorter shots have a sense of compactness! Toe mishits seem to retain line although sacrificing distance, and the wide sole actually makes it difficult to hit fat shots. A fabulous set of clubs for the mid-handicap golfer! Cons: I personally prefer a "wrap" style grip but the Nike stock grips work fine. Quality: Excellent quality! Review Summary: Since I am a bogey golfer, and really do not know what perfection is when it comes to a set of irons, I can only suggest trying these Nike Slingshots for yourself. I have rated them only a 4, but only since I have no idea what a 5 could be like!
They'll certainly be in my bag for a long time!
