Details: NS Pro Shaft 95 grams, Stiff Flex, 3-PW

Purchase: I bought it at the Nike distributor sale for around US$ 400. I was looking for a replacement set for my first clubs and I thought irons should be nice place to start. I was digging a lot with my old irons (Daiwa Hi-Trac TCS) maybe because of the thin sole. Inconsistency was also a problem, but my pro told me that it could be because of the fact that the shafts were graphite regular.
Pros: Despite having steel shafts, they were surprisingly light (NS Pro Shafts were only 90g each). It is very easy to get the ball up in the air compared to my old irons. During my practice sessions, I often look at the clubface for ballmarks, and I usually hit it all over the face, but none of my shots go too much left or too much right. Mishits fly low but they do not deviate much from the target line.
Cons: I was kinda weirded out by the construction, meaning, why the shorter irons have thicker soles than the long irons? It seems Nike was the only manufacturer that took to this route. Other game improvement irons did the opposite.
Quality: The heads look meaty, which gives you confidence at address. Non-glare finish helps a lot too. The semi-corded grips are nice as well. Shafts are very nice.

Review Summary: This is a very good buy for high handicappers. Don't live in denial, accept that you are a high handicapper and buy a club that suits you.

Details: Graphite, 4-SW

Purchase: Bought for £399 (approx $550US)from local course Pro. I had been playing with some old Dunlops and getting frustrated with lack of consistency. The club Pro told me that I would never get consistency with those and to try some new irons. I thought it was just salesman talk but agreed to use a few demo 6-irons on a practice round. Each of the demos went further than the Dunlops, but the Slingshot was a revelation - straight, high and long every single time. I fell in love with them, despite myself.
Pros: They just seem to give me so much confidence because they go up in the air and far every hit - even the long irons. They add a club distance. I think that the graphite shafts compliment the heavier head perfectly. I saw another reviewer mentioned 'clunkiness' - I got that on a few hits the other day and it happens when you don't strike it properly (but still goes anyway). The secret with these clubs is not to hit at it but to let gravity with the heavy head do most of the work, and it goes further than to try to hit it hard. Just concentrate on the club falling on the ball and then the ground accurately and it will make a non-clunky tinny sound and zoom off the club-face.
Cons: Not much, apart from the fact that the lovely shiny club heads get scratched easily. Not convinced about the feel with the wedges yet because of the clubhead weight.
Quality: Seems fine so far.

Review Summary: I'm delighted with the Slingshot OSS clubs. They have filled me with confidence and go further, strighter and higher. As long as you don't hit AT the ball, and let the club fall accurately, the ball zooms of the clubface. I call them my magic clubs.

Details: Nike stock stiff graphite

Purchase: My friend purchased these for $480 new on ebay.I have been using steel shafted Ping Eye 2 +'s,ISI's,Zing's, G2's and i5's trying to find a set I loved.I am using i5's at present because of their great feel but haven't quite mastered them.Thought I'd try another brand and the hype on these was they were just the ticket for game improvement.Since my friend was unhappy with them and offered a good deal on them (half what he paid)I figured they were worth a try.
Pros: Easy to sell and get my investment back.
Cons: After playing with the stated Ping models these clubs felt unbalanced.I also lost a lot of distance on them compared to any of the Pings. They feel way to head heavy.Possibly because of the graphite shafts.I didn't like the wide soles as they seemed to hang in the turf or bounce off it.Even at that they usually got the ball airbourne.Didn't experience any topping the ball but even well hit balls were like hitting the Ping's fat.Actually didn't lose much distance on mishits but that's not saying much since well hit balls didn't get much more.I wrote this reveiw because after reading the previous review I wished I'd of read it before getting them.
Quality: Construction and quality seemed to me to be quite good.

Review Summary: If these are game improvement clubs I guess they are improvement for no game at all.

Details: 4-AW, regular flex graphite shafts.

Purchase: I paid $700 at my local golf center last spring in the wake of the media hype and a little bit of hard-sell from the salesman. To be honest, the clubs didn't feel all that great to me compared to some others when I demo'd them, but the ball got into the air pretty consistantly (into a net)and the salesman kept going on about how these clubs would radically change my game, so I bought them.
Pros: The long irons are stupid easy to hit. The ball seems to fly off the clubface of the 4 and 5 irons like no other iron I have ever hit. It's the one redeeming quality of these clubs. However, I wasn't hitting them particularly long. I just found them easy to get the ball up into the air.
Cons: The list goes on. First, they took a good 10 yards off my game. I was hitting my 7 iron about 140 with the old Cobra clones, and I was hitting the Slingshot 7 iron about 125-130 yards. I suppose this was attributable to the high trajectory of the shots, but I wasn't hitting these shots any higher than the clones, just shorter. This was true with all the irons in the set. Also, I found the short irons to be very clunky. The heads are much too heavy for the shafts, resulting in a poorly balanced club. I frequently shanked easy approach and pitch shots that used to be my money shots. I also found the clubs difficult to line-up, perhaps due to the deep cavity backs. When I got the ball in the air, there was no guarantee the ball would end up where I aimed it. The clubs had no feedback, whatsoever. You barely feel the ball make contact with the clubface. These clubs offer no room for game improvement in terms of workability. All in all, I found these clubs very frustrating to play with.
Quality: Construction and quality seemed good. I traded them in after a couple dozen rounds, but they seemed to wear well for the time I had them. The paint on the sole numbers wore off on some of the clubs.

Review Summary: I was very unhappy with these clubs. I suppose if you are the type of player who plays once or twice a year, these clubs would suit you, but if you are looking for a game-improvement iron that will grow with you, these are not the clubs for you. I finally traded them in for a set of Cobra 3400 I/XH's. I'm very happy with Cobras. They are easier to line-up, they feel much more balanced, and I regained the distance I lost with the Nikes.

Details: Stock steel shafts and grips

Purchase: Off ebay straight fromt Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, for $580. Came with 4-Aw(52*).
Pros: Every shot is in the air. Every single one. Doesn't matter if it's form the fairway, rough, bunker, or hardpan. The four iron is great both off the tee and from the fairway and rough. Extremely easy to hit. Looks great at address. Thick top line. Accurate and have added 10 yards per club in carry.
Cons: Grips aren't the best; kinda rough on the non gloved hand. The enlarged slingback design is open at the top on the 8 through AW, which results in a whistling sound. Head is hefty and takes a few rounds to get used to.
Quality: Have had problems with nike clubs in the past (T40 wood and Ignite driver), but none with these. As solid as irons come. Just what I would expect for spending $600

Review Summary: Best golf purchase I have made. Scores dropped four or five strokes within a couple of weeks. The whistilng sound is only irritating when you listen for it, which you shouldn't be doing during your swing anyway. I have never felt so confident with an iron in my hand.

Purchase: Purchased the Slingshot OSS irons off E-bay. I saved over $300 in comparison to retail.
Pros: This are stupid easy to hit. Unbelievable. Past problem of getting mid-range irons air born are gone. Lining these babies up inspires nothing but confidence.
Cons: A bit awkward on delicate chip shots. I also don't like the sand wedge, which I ordered separately. It has way too much bounce for my taste. I probably will use the SW from the regular Slingshot set.
Quality: Rock solid.

Review Summary: Last year I got a set of Slingshots. Buying these clubs did more to improve my game than ANY other single thing I've ever done in this silly game. When I read that Nike was coming out with two additional lines (OSS & Tour)I was curious, but not necessarily tempted. However, when I had a chance to pick up a set an OSS (4-AW) for $400, I couldn't pass it up. To say these clubs are easy to hit would be like saying that Pamela Anderson is kind of cute. So far I have played 4 rounds with them and have only mishit them once. (Even that shot, a semi-bladed 9-iron: truly an awful swing went straight toward the green and ended up about ten yards short.) I have found them to be at least one club longer than the regular Slingshots. In large part I attribute my scratch handicap to the Slingshots (I know I'm not really that good), and I'm excited about what the OSSs can do for my game.
