On 2004-09-03, Paul weekend golfer 18 handicap rated this Nike CPR Iron Wood 24 Degree Graphite a 5...(4268)

Purchase: Purchased online from The Golf Warehuse for $109.00 which included free shipping and a 30 day playability guarantee.
Pros: I purchased the club as a replacement for my long irons which I have never had a lot of confidence hitting. The first time I ever hit it was from about 185 yards with a tree blocking my angle to the green. I opened the club face slightly and hit and incredible shot to the green. I was hooked! Sounded great, felt great and gave me more confidence shaping shots like that than I have ever had with a long iron. The next round I tried it on the tee. I had been pulling my irons off the tee but not this one. The par 3 was closely guarded by water on the left which would have spelled certain doom for my pulled irons but the CPR was straight and true landing about 5 feet left and 3 feet short of the hole and checking nicely after about 8 feet leaving me a nice birdy try.
Cons: The only possible complaint would be the somewhat weird lofts. The clubs are 18 degree (2-3 iron), 21 degree (3-4 iron) and 24 degree (4-5 iron). At first I felt uncertain of distances but it didn't take too long to get used to them.
Quality: I did have one problem with the club. When I hit it off the tee on the par 3 I described above I heard a "weird" sound. I shook the club and there was a rattle in the shaft. I hit it a couple of more times that round and it seemed fine but I did send it back for a replacement.

Review Summary: The bottom line. Well I immediately went out and bought the other two lofts to add to my bag. I then took out my 5 wood and 3 through 5 irons and put in the 3 CPR iron woods and was able to add an additional wedge to my bag. As a final note don't confuse these with the CPR woods. They have a deaper head and shorter shafts to make them easier to hit from the rough but I felt weren't as natural to hit as a replacement for long irons.
