On 2004-08-31, ScratchGolfDoc rated this Odyssey Two Ball Putter DFX a 5...(4238)

Purchase: I jumped on the two ball putter band wagon. I'm a 'PutterHead' and OWN 6 and counting. I use them all on a regular basis. Mallets in the afternoon or if the green is in poor shape and slow. Blades in the morning. And, of course, whatever lines up well that day to my eye. I really put VERY LITTLE worth to a reviewer who picks up a putter of five minutes at 'golfgalaxy' and feel that they can write a review like an expert. For instance, I've had this putter for about 9 months and use it regularly on the practice greens and on the course...so I know a little about it. I paid the regular price for this $160 at the time.
Pros: Like everyone who owns one or if you think about it, the two ball make is easy to line up a putt. I have the heel shafted model because it 'balances' the clubface (go to a putter site and find out what that means). I like the feel of the DFX because it comes off the putter crisper. The regular two ball seemed like it was stuck on the clubface. I don't have any problems with glare in the sun which everybody seems to tote. Putting is all about putting well with the putter you have and are used to. If you miss a putt with this putter it is your/or the balls fault.
Cons: The bend of the shaft to make the face balances takes a little getting used to. The sock cover is cheezy compared to the cool magnetic cover of the Taylormade Rossa I have.
Quality: quality is first rate as all Callaway products. It does scratch easily. Grip has a nice flat are facing forward that also helps with alingment

Review Summary: Great putter. Easy to adjust and line up. Recommended for all levels and can help high handicappers.
