On 2004-07-12, BFit4Golf rated this Orlimar HipTi 9.5 420cc w Aldila NV55 R a 5...(3862)

Purchase: I purchased this driver off of ebay for $200. I previously owned the 340cc 10.5 degree with stock fujikura shaft. Orlimars stock shafts measure out to be weaker than stated. I was very inconsistant and debated over the stock stiff or upgraded Aldila.
Pros: Since I was already familiar with the sound and feel I was really looking for a difference in ball flight with the 9.5 and consistancy and power of the shaft. This shaft is much firmer than the stock fuji(which is a great shaft, just make sure you get one step up of what you usually hit) and gives great results. The bigger head allows a mishit to turn out a lot better than the 340cc. I was fortunate enough to have the golf pro shop lend me a Cleveland Launcher 460, TM 580XD, Nike ignite and this orlimar at the same time so I could compare on the range and the course. I wanted the the lanucher or the ignite for the looks and name but stuck to the orlimar. This is my second one and would reccomend it to everyone. IF you try it and can't hit it, look at different shafts cause this face is HOT and out performs the other three I tried.
Cons: Nothing
Quality: Club and headcover looks awesome and the construction is top notch. Nice black lacquer finish.

Review Summary: Just try it. IT is less expensive and recently outperformd all the big name drivers in an independant test. Im not sure what nike uses but they claim the same thing in a robot test. But that's Nike for ya. They are getting better but mass marketing doesn't improve quality.
