On 2004-09-16, Jonny S rated this Perfect Club 21Degree Utility Wood a 4...(4391)

Purchase: Boston Golf Show $80.00 I bought the club to replace my 7Wood
Pros: The Perfect Club is "perfect" on occasion. I have hit many great shots out of the rough and out of bunkers. The club is easy to use - place it in the middle of your stance and hit it like an iron. Very easy to use out of fairway bunkers and the rough. I have hit a number of perfect shots with this club. The club has a tendency to draw and when I am able to allow for it - the ball usually winds up in the fairway. I use it on one hole at my home course exclusively and have always had a short shot to the green. I don't hit the perfect club that high - it has the trajectory of an iron as opposed to a 7 Wood.
Cons: The problem I have had with the perfect club is that due to the offset head sometimes shots from the fairway or the tee will draw/hook. Sometimes the hook will be pronounced. I am a fairly strong player and my natural shot is a draw. When I go after it a little the ball will hook too much. Of course this problem in probably the swinger not the club. In order to make sure I hit straight shots I have to take a weak grip and concentrate on making a smooth swing. This at times is tough, because I am most comfortable trying to hit the ball hard.
Quality: This is a well designed, quality club. The head is fairly heavy. The grip is a lampkin crossline of medium diameter.

Review Summary: I would recommend the Perfect Club to any high handicapper. It is an easy club to hit. I have never hit a slice with it. Off the fairway and tee I tend to draw/hook it, however, out of the rough and out of a fairway bunker - the club delivers as promised - the face will not shut down and the ball comes out straight. For the stronger player I would suggest demoing the club first - the draw/hook may be too much for some to keep in the fairway.

Tour players forced to mingle ... and don't like it - I’ve said this before and probably will say it many, many more times.

In a lot of ways, I respect professional golfers much more than a lot of other athletes in the “play for pay” business. A...(Click Headline For More!)
