Details: V2 proforce shaft, stiff, 10*
Purchase: paid $110 on ebay
looking for a club and shaft combo to try and help my slice.
been using the aldila green on most drivers with little success. Pros: Nice classic shape to the head. 460 but doesn't look huge at address. Nice sound, good distance, been keeping my tee shots in the fairways more consistantly.
The shaft is the real winner here in my opinion. For whatever reason the V2 stiff just fits my swing. Been hooked up to a couple different launch monitors and they keep telling me to go with the aldila nv.
swing speed 88-104
I guess you really need to swing different club/shaft combos, and just not at the range, to find what fits you. As a lefty your options aren't always great, probably why I own three drivers. Cons: The only complaint would be the headcover, it doesn't protect my fancy shaft at all. I use my r5 headcover, no big deal. Quality: Good quality, no complaints so far. Review Summary: Good head/shaft combo for me, this club will be in my bag most weekends.
Nothing too fancy, it just works, and it was affordable.

Details: 11.5* Aldila NV 65S
Purchase: Aquired the product from Golf Works, Burwood, VIC, Australia Pros: First and foremost the most important feature of a club for me is its look. This club I found to be a simple design that was pleasing and comfortable to look down at. Upon testing a range of drivers including the Titleist 983K, 75J, Taylor Made R7, 540,580 and Srixon 302 I couldn't go past the G2. A simple and beautiful look with performance to match. A crisp sound, great feel and ball flight.. Cons: That head cover. It fails to protect the shaft from clubs in your bag. Expect chips, scratches. A dissapointing aspect when the Aldila green looks so nice. Not a costly upgrade, so a minor issue. Quality: Overall it has a simple design with simple features in mind. A solid feel and a very hot off the face stick. Its been built for a purpose and thats to go long. However this has all round performance. Review Summary: A stunning looking club with performance to match. Simply try it, i'll be surprised if you don't like it. You don't have to buy it, but i'll be surprised if you don't like it. Details: G2 10.5 degree loft left handed
Purchase: Bought this club at a golf shop following a recommendation from a friend. Small shop with personalized service, I was fitted and adjustments made to the grip. I paid $275 for this driver. Pros: THe G2 is easy to hit, sets up well behind the ball and is easy to draw. This extra length from the draw is welcome as the extra 20 yards or so makes the long par 4s at my course easier to reach. It is also light so there is no heavy feeling when you pick it up, it inspires confidence. Cons: No real dislikes with this club so far. Quality: The club is well made with good balance and seems to be of very good quality. I am not an expert at all in club making etc. but it seems well constructed to me. Review Summary: Nice club for those looking for quality and playability. Distance very good with the ability to draw the ball. What is nice is a draw and not a hook, and this allows me to work the ball for distance advantage but not be penalized by being off the fairway. Purchase: golf galaxy; tried just about every driver made & this was the longest & most consistant of any. Pros: solid yet soft feel Cons: purchased @ golf galaxy & was fitted with the nv shaft(felt like a board).went back to explain that i couldn't hit it, golf galaxy refitted me with the grafalloy pro launch but charged me full price,i now love the club but won't ever trust golf galaxy with fitting me again. Quality: well constucted but had to change the grip Review Summary: On 2005-09-06, PGB rated this Ping G2 a 5...(6160)
Purchase: $279 Pros: forgiving, solid & long! inspires confidence, can be used on holes that were too tight before purchasing this club. Cons: grip(replaced it with winn arrow)& headcover could be a bit longer in order to protect the shaft. Quality: superb Review Summary: i have been searching for the perfect driver for over 3yrs,i have found that in the G2. On 2005-08-06, Haymen Goldenwassberg rated this Ping G2 a 5...(6013)
Purchase: Golfsmith for 285 because i had the old Ping driver and wanted to get this and see how I hit it. Pros: I crank the crap outta this thing. 305 on dry days. Very forgiving club head where as oppose to other drivers I would hit slices, this is just a small fade if not straight. Great freaking club hands down. Cons: Nothing other then the fact that when I am playing skins with my buddies they ask if they can use it and I have to feel like a jerk and say no because I dont want them hitting the 550 yard par 5s in 2. Quality: Great club head, sexy graphite shaft. Review Summary: Bottom Line is it will improve golf scores. On 2005-07-18, Anonymous rated this Ping G2 a 5...(5875)
Purchase: 2Golf in MO. $249 New. Pros: Easy to hit. Giant sweet spot. Carried alot farther than my Titleist 975J. Nice Sound too
Cons: The Headcover does not protect the shaft all that well and the grip is less than good. Nothing a Winn Arrow Grip for $5.99 cant fix! Quality: It's PING! Need I say more. Review Summary: Highly reccomended! Will improve your game. Went from 9.3 HDCP to 7.8. On 2005-05-18, Craig Powers rated this Ping G2 a 5...(5524)
Purchase: I bought this driver for $299. It is hard to find a great driver like this in a lefty that is why my dad traveled 45 minutes away from my house to get this club for my b'day Pros: This driver is the best i have ever played. The last driver i had a nickent driver. It was ok bought i was slicing it to much. This club first time i hit it it went 250 and i am 15 years old. It was straight and long. I shot a 84 first time using this club. It is long and it is really really straight. BUY THIS CLUB IT WONT LET U DOWN. Cons: NOTHING! Quality: It is very attractive off the tee and doesn't scratch up that much Review Summary: I loved this club and i feel good every time i step to the tee and the head cover is sick! Purchase: I purchased this driver from a local pro shop for $291. I had been hitting an Orlimar 310cc hipti. I wanted to try a 460 cc driver and had heard that this driver was getting great reviews. Pros: The head is 460cc but does not look like it is that big. The address position is great with the half moon on the crown. I have the Aldila NV stiff shaft which is perfect for me. I have tested my launch angle with this club and I am at 11* which is where I need to be. This driver gives you great distance with more carry than roll if you get the correct club. The trajectory seems too high at first but I have had more 280 to 290 yard drives than ever. I like the increased carry and decreased roll for courses where you want to cut the corners over trees. It is hard for me to slice with this club! Cons: I simply have no complaints about this club! Even the headcover is cool! Quality: Construction is sleek and smart! Face has great design for alignment. Review Summary: Once the gear head mentality dies down concerning the Taylormade R7 I believe this club will become 1 of the top 2 sellers! Purchase: I just sent back an older model ping (tisi titanium) because the face on the driver caved in , Ping being the way they are sent me a brand new G2 driver and all I had to pay was the shipping!!!
How great is that? Pros: This driver has a sound that is unmatched out of all drivers i have ever hit, The distance is great. I do long drive events so I look for something consistanly long... I found it with this driver.
Also the look and feel are very nice ,although the driver is very large (460cc) it doesn't look it.
Great job Ping! Cons: The only dislike i have with this driver is that I have a hard time hitting a fade with it , I don't mind the draw but I like to work the ball in both directions depending on wind. Quality: By far the best thing to come out of ping since the Tisi titanium.
Top notch quality and construction!!! Review Summary: If you haven't tryed one yet go do it!
Just make sure to buy ear plugs for your playing partners because it sounds like a gun shot goes off when you hit it , nothin' but power!!! On 2005-02-22, G24ME rated this Ping G2 a 5...(5074)
Purchase: Golf Connection
Bought it because I am a Ping man and after hitting it I was in love! Paid full retail $299 and it is worth twice that! Pros: Purchased at a local pro shop. Opted for the 10* w/Grafalloy ProLaunch65 in "stiff" flex. This is one amazing club. I now know what all the hype is about surrounding it. Very solid feel, nicce boring trajectory and FORGIVING! Great sound and is an absolutely beautiful club! I highly recommend this to all levels of golfers....that is if you want to be in the fairway more often! Try it, you will not be disappointed!! Cons: Not a thing in the world to dislike! Quality: First Rate! Review Summary: On 2004-11-16, Joe Peel rated this Ping G2 a 5...(4774)
Purchase: I purchased it on line for $250. Pros: This driver is very long, and very straight. This is the best driver that Ping has ever manufactured. The G2 is very easy to hit, and longer than TM, Titleist 983 & 975. Cons: I did not find any faults with the driver. Quality: Construction seems to be solid, graphics are very nice to look at. Although it is a very large head, I did not find it to look as big as it is. Review Summary: A really great driver, great price, I believe to be one of the best available.
