On 2005-07-31, Joe Golfer rated this Ping G2 10* R Flex a 5...(5976)

Purchase: I've been playing a Cleveland 460, but the shaft didn't seem suitable. Too much torque caused a severe right to left ball flight. Decided to try the Ping G2, which sells for $299 at Golf Galaxy.
Pros: This driver is 10* with a Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue 65 R flex shaft in it. The Cleveland driver was 10.5*, while this one is 10*, but I'd say that the height of the ball flight is the same. The difference is that the ball goes much straighter with the Ping. The Cleveland's R flex feels weaker than this club. The Ping's ProLaunch shaft feels like an R flex should feel like for someone who swings at my swing speed, low 90's.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
Quality: An excellent quality driver. No qualms about it.

Review Summary: If you are looking for a good driver that takes advantage of today's lower spinning golf balls, then try this one. The R flex is a nice crisp firm feeling shaft, yet it has a nice kick to it. Many times a player has to sacrafice a sloppy feeling shaft in order to get a nice kick, but not with this Grafalloy shaft.
