Purchase: I have hit just about every driver out there. I am no hack but I am not breaking any course records either. I cocsistently shoot around the low 80 mark.
I went to Golf Galaxy and hit this driver last after trying the R7; R5 (taylor made), Cleveland 460 Launcher, Taylor R580, Callaway Big Bertha etc etc.
This is without a doubt the best driver I have ever hit!!! Straight and Long!! I have the grafalloy blue stiff shat and an 8.5 degree loft since I swing very hard. I cosnsitently hit this driver around 290 straight everys ingle time. I paid $299 brand new and even though that is a lot of money I would do it again knowing how much it is improving my driving accuracy and distance.
Pros: Awesome design. Very forgiving even on mis-hits the ball goes straight. I am a bigger guy and the weight is just heavy enough so the club has outstanding feel.
Cons: not a thing....the headcover might be a little futuristic looking but who cares!! the club is incredible

Purchase: Gofl Hdqtrs $275
Pros: Traded in my Cleveland 460 for the Ping G2. At first I purchased the G2 with Graff Pro-Launch Blue shaft. Distance was better then the Cleveland 460. After a month or so with G2 and the Pro Launch shaft I wasn't happy with the consistency. Went back to the store that now has a Vector Launch Monitor. I hit my G2 with the pro-launch shaft and every other driver in the store (Cleveland Comp 460, Cobra 454, Callaway 454, Nicklaus, Taylor Made R5 & R7 and a new Ping G2 with the stock Ping shaft. For me the G2 with the stock shaft was the longest club and more importantly more consistent. As stated several times in these reviews. Give the Ping G2 a try, great driver at a great price, but go to a demo day or launch monitor and get fitted with the correct shaft. The pro-launch Blue & Adlila NV shafts aren't for everyone.

Purchase: I tried the taylor made r5, r7 and the ping 2. while all of them felt good in the store, I liked the way the ping set up and the traditional look of the head. I paid 299 at Roger Dunns. I got the regular shaft with 10 degree loft and had the grip changed to a midsize.
Pros: It is over 25 yards longer than my Callaway vft hawkeye driver. If you don't try to kill it, it is very straight and has excellent hang time. On the course, I also hit the taylor made r7 but I think if you don't need the weights to cure a bad slice or hook, I like the ping better. It is a nice looking club. The head cover looks like one of the new basketball shoes. I took it out in a tournament without even going to the range and the very first hits were nice and long and straigth. This is my first ping product. I have also hit the new callaway 454 and didn't really like the way it set up.
Cons: nothing bad really. I didn't compare the cleveland but it is hard to find bad equipment these days.
Quality: well made. even on less than good hits, it felt okay. Review Summary: I think if you can hit a normal driver and keep it in the fairway, you will like this club. Even the guy who owned the taylor r-7 liked it and he kept it in play with a fade. My friend who has a adams redline 8.5 was the only one who hit it past me and that was only once. Purchase: I got this club at golfsmith for $299. It is the best driver i have ever had. Buy it!
Pros: I love this driver because it is very pretty looking at address. I loved the "moon" shape alignment aid on the crown of the club. This really helps my alignment. I used to have the Nike forged titanium, and I hit the G2 so much farther and straighter than the Nike. I am 13 years old, and I am averaging 260-280 yards with this driver. I also love the Aldila NV shaft. I am also hitting 80% of my fairways. I love this club.
Cons: No dislikes.

Purchase: Bought at New York Golf Center for $300. It just felt that good swinging this club.
Pros: This club is long! Adding at least 20 yards on my drives. I used to hit a Titleist 975 LFE and that gave me 240 yards of carry, but had produced too much spin so my ball would check and sometimes spin back. This G2 driver produces less spin so I now get some roll. Shaft option is great. Got the Aldila 65 stiff shaft. What a combo. Did I happen to mention this driver is Long? Price is absolutely unbeatable. In an age where most drivers sell for over 400 bucks, it's great to see that you can get great quality without taking out a loan. Demoed all the new drivers from Titleist, Taylor, Mizuno, Callaway, and Cleveland. This club by far best suited my needs.
Cons: Head is a bit large. Still getting used to hitting a driver that is as big as grapefruit.
Quality: Ping has done a great job with this driver. Simple, easy to transition to this club. Ball screams off the face of this driver. Overall, just a wonderfully put together club. Review Summary: Long, Straight, FUN!!! Get a hold of one of these drivers and crush a few balls. Sound off the driver is sweet. I never thought I'd hit anything other than a titleist driver, but this Ping G2 blew me away. Pure Joy.
