Purchase: Bought this driver from my local club in Lincolnshire Uk ,part ex with a Cobra 430 due to the fact I had developed a nasty hook ,these big oversized hot faced drivers like the Cobra are designed to help slicers not hookers of the ball . Pros: Like the tec it feels shorter at address than it is I have the 8.5 with the 350 stiff shaft and this does feel as a stiff club should be .The head looks bigger than it is the driver is also very forgiving and surprising long for a legal driver .I no longer have to go looking for balls in the left hand side wood and rough ,confidence is high with this club ,just like picking up a 3 wood ,ball flies very straight even when not hit quite of the centre. Cons: Nothing to dislike ,it keeps me on the fairway. Quality: Quality like most of the big brands is superb ,paint job is very good , club head wont chip off paint like some do ,shaft plain and nice no over bright patterns ,allround a loverly finish. Review Summary: Club hits the ball a long way ,not quite the longest ,but a good ball with this driver is the prov 1x .Tried 2 Cobras with stiff shafts + plus other hot faced drivers and the bottom line is clubs like the Ping Tec because they are not hot faced or jumbo sized hit the ball straighter, FACT!any trompoline effect driver will hit the ball slightly longer but your mishits will be way way worse too .Ask yourself a question ,why dont low handicappers use hot faced jumbo drivers ? Purchase: I have been playing Ping irons for eternity, so I decided to give this club a try. I got it on the internet for 325.00 Pros: This driver is awesome. it is so much longer than the Callaway Hawkeye driver I had been playing. I must have picked up at least 15 yards extra from this driver. The ball comes off on a nice lower ball flight too. Cons: There is not too much to dislike about it. People have always complained about the apperance of the club head, and that it might not be pleasing to the eye, but I had no problem . Quality: Ping means quality from putters, irons, and drivers. This driver meets all those requirements of a good quality golf product. Review Summary: Go out and buy this club if you want to add some distance to your drives. It will help you get on those par 5's in 2 On 2002-09-17, dj rated this Ping TiSI Tec a 5...(571)
Purchase: Pro Shop, $450 Pros: The club is very long, and very forgiving. It is the best driver I have ever hit. Before this club I used an orginal Callaway ERC. This club is longer and more accurate. It can hit a draw or a fade with it. Highly recommend. Cons: nothing Quality: The club is well constructed, I like the different hosel options. Review Summary: Best drive I have it, longer than the erc and straighter than a 975. On 2002-08-08, Bill rated this Ping TiSi Tec a 5...(373)
Purchase: Purchased at Old Ranch C.C. in Seal Beach for about 350.00. I have been in the market for a new driver for some time now, but haven't found anything worth making the switch. I have tried everything, Titleist, Calloway you name it. For a long time I saw the Ping TiSi Tec and walked past it because of the looks basically. Wow, was that a mistake. Pros: I tried it just for the heck of and boy was I impressed. It is very easy to swing and hit. There are several "hot" spots on the face which is great for those off center hits that most of us have usually more times than not. AND LONG TOO!! Very good distance and accuracy without the work. Cons: A little tought to look at at first, but easily forgoten about after a few rockets. Quality: Quality product with a quality household name. It is your standard titanium of today with perimeter weighting to help get the ball into the air, but also decrease the spin a bit for increased distance and roll. A nice light grey color helps with the appearance. The blach ferrell where the head and shaft meet list the specs of the club i.e. RSS = right hand, standard lie and square face for example. Review Summary: Do yourself a favor and give this one a try. If it impressed this creature of habit I am sure it will you too. It's a beaut and well worth the effort and $$$$ On 2002-08-06, Bob Bachman Jr rated this Ping TiSi Tec a 5...(362)
Purchase: Demoed this clubs on two separate occassions, company rep was very intelligent about the product and treated all people nicely, $400 Pros: Nice metallic blue/grey color, big(323cc) but not unsightly, excellent grip, tremondous resounding "ping" when struck, high boring flight, lots of roll, has a huge sweet spot, off-center hits still stay online Cons: wind will affect high shots Quality: Light but solid feel, always know where the clubhead is Review Summary: A driver for all handicap levels On 2002-07-23, Pingeye2 rated this Ping Tisi Tec a 5...(297)
Purchase: $250 at auction via Golfclubexchange.com Pros: Previously an owner of a 7* Tisi with a stiff 350 shaft, now the proud owner of a Tec 7* w/ a Graphite Design YS-6 XS shaft. This driver is solid!!! Took it out to the course the first day and can't say enough about the distance and accuracy in this puppy. The ball jumps off the face and bounds hard off the ground. I'd have to say that this driver is an easy 10 yards longer than the original Tisi. Mishits are also straighter than the original (I hit one completely off the toe and still hit the middle of the fairway...go figure?). Cons: A bit pricy, especially when you consider the mediocre stock shaft (if you plan on getting one, consider ordering from Ping's WRX Department with another shaft for an additional $40+ depending on the shaft). Before you buy, DEMO, DEMO, DEMO. Quality: With the Ping name, I know there is going to be quality. The club feels extremely solid, unlike the holowish feel of the 300s and 975s. Review Summary: Considering all of the new choices out there, I would definately demo the Tisi Tec, especially if you already have the old one. With the shaft and hosel options, there's bound to be one made just for you. On 2002-05-10, Casey Howell rated this Ping TiSi Tec a 5...(94)
Purchase: I previously was playing a Ping TiSi 8.5 degree driver with a regular flex UST Proforce shaft with overall good results. However, I was not getting any roll out of this setup. It was forgiving and flew the ball a long way, just no roll. I started hitting a new Ping TiSi Tec 7 degree club that my club pro had. It was mated with a factory extra-stiff shaft, factory grip, standard lie, and standard face. The club cost me 380 dollars, which is a very good price for this club. Pros: This stick is a monster. The repositioning of the weight in the new head creates a much flatter, hotter trajectory that translates into much more roll after the ball lands in the fairway. The flight is more characteristic of a club along the lines of a Titelist 975D, but that is where the similarities end. This club is even more forgiving of mishits than the original TiSi. Hit it on the toe and the ball goes the almost the same distance as a pure shot. It is not easy to shape shots with this stick, but that is not the point of the club anyway. This puppy wants to go long and straight, and it does. I picked up a true 30 yards over my old driver, and it is due to the lower flight and added roll. It will not ballon like the older Ping either. Since I have been playing this club, I have hit drives to places that I have never reached before. It is turning those par 4's that were driver-6 iron, into driver-8 or 9 iron. If you don't think that will lower your scores you have a bolt coming loose. Cons: Not much to dislike about this club. The only thing may be the factory grip. It is average at best. I will probably regrip it with a Winn grip in the future. Oh yeah, another annoying thing about it is the fact that all my buddies are wanting to borrow it constantly. In fact 2 of them have ordered one just like it. I hope there is a delay at the factory. Quality: The new gray color of the head is a big improvement over the black, glossy head of the older model. It just looks classier and seems to line up better behind the ball. The shaft graphics on the factory shaft are non-intrusive, not particularly handsome, but not garish either. Overall the quality seems first rate Review Summary: Do not buy this club.....please. I want it all to myself. Seriously, this is the best driver I have ever hit. I have never seen a large-headed forgiving driver that will gun the ball down the fairway like this one. Usually game improvement drivers hit high, sort of numb feeling shots. Not this sucker though. I usually do not rave over certain clubs, I have always been of the mind that it is the Indian and not the Arrows. Well this is one helluva Arrow. In case it matters as to the level I play at, I am a 7 handicap. The point being is that I could already drive the ball pretty good to begin with and have played since I was 5 years old(34 now), so to be so struck with a new club is not that common with me. Very well done Ping!!!!
