Details: 3,5,7 woods, UST shafts
Purchase: Since taking up the game again I'm back on the perpetual equipment search. I picked up a beautiful used set of these woods at a store on Hilton Head last winter for $250 and don't look for fairway woods anymore. The plastic hosels look a little cheesy but with some care and patience they make it possible to set these clubs up with any lie or face angle you want. I closed the faces on mine, and am able to draw the ball consistently. (Although you could buy them originally with different hosel options, these came square).
Pros: They're superb clubs, very forgiving, good distance. The 3 wood is disproportionately larger than the 5 and 7 which makes it nice from the tee. It's about 20 yards shorter tham my superquad driver. They've been out of production long enough that used ones are reasonably priced. But watch out. I also bought a driver later on ebay which has no pop and may be clone. Cons: They look a little unusual at first. I've seen several drivers with shafts broken at the top of the plastic hosel which may indicate a design weakness, but fairway woods don't get the same kind of punishment. Quality: Review Summary: I don't think Ping has made anything better since.

Purchase: I bought the 3 and 5-woods new off ebay for $275 each. They were way-too expensive to buy retail.
I have Ping irons and wanted to keep the same brand in woods and I had swung these in a shop and really liked the feel. Pros: I am a hacker who struggles to break 100. These are beuutiful clubs. I have the stiff graphite shafts.
They are so flat, you tee the ball very low, and they are wonderfully easy to swing.
When you stand at address, you just feel a confidence no other club gives you.
Before I bought these, I couldn't play a fairway wood without duffing or slicing it. These are so easy to sweep balls off the fairway and have given me a new joy and confidence.
I have the RS hosels which give me a nice little draw on each shot.
These provide a preferable alternative to difficult long-iron shots and if the Driver is not working, I just use the 3 to get my confidence back. Have planted drives up to 260yds with the 3-wood. Cons: Only the price. Like all Ping stuff, mega-expensive. Quality: Solid feel, nice finish. If you tee the ball correctly, ie not too high, you will avoid sky marks. Review Summary: If you can afford them, get them. Even if you are a struggling player like me, these will not let you down. Purchase: Went to two demo days and tried driver,3,5,& 7 woods. Rep was most helpful in every way to ensure proper fit. I paid $400/club. Pros: Very forgiving, high but penatrating ball flight, terrific solid feel, resounding "ping" from driver Cons: Cost of fairway woods same as driver Quality: Weight blocks near the face of driver & 3 wood promote more roll, while weight is positioned back on 5 & 7 woods for control and spi Review Summary: A good choice of woods for all handicap levels, particularly higher handicaps.

Went to the range yesterday to practice. Took the new 9.5* driver to test it out. I hit it a lot better than I figured I would with that factory insta
