Purchase: Have owned my Ping Eye 2 (zz Lite 1984) irons now for over 20 years. I have access to all brands of irons and try them often, Always put the Pings back in the bag. I forget how much I paid for them, but what ever it was it was well worth it. Pros: I can control the ball really well, Im able to spin the ball at will, I can spin the ball a lot if needed or a little, or make the ball land with no spin at all. I have gotten really comfortable with them and its nice to know what they will do for me when needed. Cons: they dont make them anymore Quality: Top Quality. Older Pings feel better and look better than the new Pings. Review Summary: Bottom Line GET SOME. You wont regret it

Purchase: A very close friend of mine gave this set to be as he was getting a new one. He bought it used from a old golf shop in town. I think he paid for about $250. Since the clubs are like 20 years old, I thought he got ripped off. However, the club is in a good condition overall and they are great. Pros: I didn't like the club too much at first, because they are too old. However, it is very forgiving and it's an excellent set of club. Cons: It has bit less distance then other clubs I have used. Plus I think it looks but ugly. Quality: It is well made. They have soft feel and again very forgiving. It has pretty good/average weight, the square grooves, wide sole easy to hit. Review Summary: I recently got a set of Ping Eye 2. These irons are great. I really love 7 to W, but since it is so forgiving I could use long irons pretty well too. This is the best set of iron I used, and it gave me a lot of confidence of iron shots. They have soft feel and again very forgiving. It has pretty good/average weight, the square grooves, wide sole easy to hit. The only problem I have with this club is that 1. it is bit uglier than other clubs; 2. the distance is bit less. Unlike other people (who tested out the demo, compare with other clubs, bought it, because it was one of the best and still likes it) it was given to me, but I still like it. Overall I really like this club and recommend to beginners. On 2004-03-18, i3man rated this Ping Eye 2 a 4...(3136)

Purchase: I bought my Ping Eye 2's off a guy running an ad in the paper for $200.00. Pros: Great feel, Great look and build, excellent distance w/ these irons. Cons: NOTHING.....LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM Quality: EXCELLENT!! Review Summary: GO TRADE IN YOUR DANG DUNLOPS...PONY UP AND GET EM' On 2002-09-13, mikeb rated this Ping Eye 2 a 5...(535)
Purchase: I have been looking for a full set of this ping eye 2 for a while now and accidentally found a very nice set at a flea market. Traded a set of my six months old 990's straight up and not regret doing so at all. Pros: Very simple looking club which is a very good thing, but yet when you setup to the ball you'll know that this is one seriuos club. Own a ping i3 blade but i'd rather play with this set any time and I mean that too. Cons: So far so good......... Quality: head is made out of stainless steel, black dot square grooves with dynamic gold s 400 steel shaft. Review Summary: Although I prefer blades over cavity back irons ( owns an MP 33 as well )and very much like the softness of forged heads. No real complaint s about its feel what ever is missing the ease fo use of this club makes up for everything. On 2002-09-01, Corky Fowler rated this Ping Eye 2 a 4...(495)
Purchase: I purchsed these clubs in Singapore off their web site Golfsg.com. Its a great place to buy used gear with no drama, prices are good and quality is generally high.I paid SD $375 for 3-SW.My brother (HC +8) owns a set as does a close friend (HC +3).The clubs were around 7 yrs old in good condition. Pros: I had been looking for a complete set of clubs for some time and wasn't sure what to buy. New or used, oversized, cavity, cast ,forged etc. The main problem in Singapore is that 75% of clubs have graphite shafts so if you want steel there can be a long wait for the right pre-owned set. These Pings were steel and black dot so they were perfect. They have a good reputation for long life.
I took them to the driving range for a first hit and of course they felt quite different to the graphite clubs I had been borrowing and renting.Accuracy was excellent with a little loss of distance, Off 100 balls 80 went straight, very few sliced or hooked. The shorter irons are extremely easy to hit accurately as there is little roll. The 9/PW drop and stop within 1 meter. The grips are new. Cons: They felt slightly clunky due to the steel shafts and harder head compared to the clubs I had used previously, with slightly less feel but this was someting to get used to. The improved accuracy compensated for this. After several hrs at the range the feel is much better. Quality: Construction is excellent as all Ping Eye 2 owners will know. Review Summary: As a final comment I would recommend these clubs to anybody who wants a good quality club at a preowned price. They last well if looked after.
