Details: CS Lite Stiff, Red Dot -1*
Purchase: I purchased this set from Ebay. All the used sets were around 499-699. I sarched for a while, and typed G 5, with a space and forund 1 set miss-listed and had no action on it, got the set for $380.. An absolute steal!
Pros: I've owned a number of Club types, Srixon, Titleist, Callaway...and never Ping..Don't know wy...But I should have bought them years ago. I sold my Callaway X-20 Tours on ebay to buy this set. On a whim I grabbed a Ping 2HL to replace a hybrid I hit to high, and fell in love with the feel and workability..yes workability in the 2 HL.. I hit it high, low, Right to left and left to right... So I decided to try some Irons hoping to have the same feeling with them.. I started with the new i5 irons and loved them, and grabed the G5 and took both to the range.. Without a doubt the G5's were much easier to hit...With a smooth takeaway I could really unleash the down swing and was hitting the balls high and far.. Averaged 195 with my 6 Iron.. But HIGH flight and soft landing.. I added about 10 yards to my irons... I may decide to weaken the loft to take some distance OFF!!! The hit is soft compaired to the hard feel of callaway and Tileist. They clean very well, and are made in the USA.. Obvious by the US flag sticker idicating made in the USA!!!! Hey, I shoot 73-78 average, and put my pride aside to get a little extra forgiveness and it was well worth it!!! Who care HOW you get the score...If its straight and you cn control the ball does itreally matter..there's no space on the GHIN to record the clubs you use,,,just your handicap.
Cons: Love it all.... Im so happy I made this discovery...The price is a bit steep,,, but made in the USA.. Cant complain about manufacturers going over seas to cheapen the cost, and complain about paying extra for made in the USA...
Quality: Made very well.. Its a ping, they've been around forever!
Review Summary: BUY THEM!!!! If you're debating, hit them side by side with some others and feel the differnce.... Edwin Watts will let you take 4 Irons out to test on the real range for like $10, and an impression of your card.. You will never get a true feel hitting into a net...
