Details: Red dot, stiff steel
Purchase: Paid $400 at the Brookline Golf Course (Putterham) in Massachusetts. The pro gave me his price. (I got the same deal on the Mizunos - paid $380) Pros: They were the longest irons I ever hit. Previously had Titleist 992s, Zings and a 1985 model Eye 2s and none could compare in distance and control. The ball flight was higher and the carry was longer. Large sweet spot so mis-hits didn't lose much. I liked the way they looked (am I alone?) so they gave me confidence that I could hit any shot at anytime. Cons: Too much offset for me. My misses, like my politics are left, - my draw turns into a pulls or, gasp, a hook. The perfect club for me would be the Zing 2 with the offset of the new I5s. That's not happening. Seriously though, the offset was the only thing I didn't like. Quality: I've never had any problem with three sets of Pings other than a couple of broken shafts that had nothing to do with construction. The heads don't come flying off (TaylorMade anyone?) and each club is the exact complement to the others in a set. I've changed the shafts to Rifles in the Zing 2s and the Mizunos because I just like the way the shaft responds and, if flighted and spine-aligned, will provide a noticeable kick. Review Summary: I'm suffering through my Mizuno phase and have just ordered a set of Zing 2s (eBay, baby) - I know my specs so could buy used clubs. I might switch the PW to copper since I play a Zing 2 copper sand wedge. Now that's a feel club. I'd love a set of BeCu Zing 2s but they never made them - only the wedges - I didn't like that wart on the toe of the Zings and they are available in BeCu. After my experience I'll never stray from Pings again. I'm ashamed of myself and feel like a worthless piece of **** for leaving Karsten's kids. I'm a nothing, a loser, and a pathetic excuse of a golfer. BUT THE PINGS WILL RESURRECT MY OUTLOOK! THE SUN WILL SHINE EVERY DAY THAT I USE THEM! I'M WHOLE AGAIN! I CAN BREATHE, I'M SMILING, I LOVE LIFE AGAIN! ALL IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD! Okay, maybe that's over the top.

Purchase: $300 at a Pro Shop (Harris sporting Goods) in Maine. Pros: These are awesome hitting clubs! I can't imagine speaking poorly about them. I have hit many clubs and find these to be far superior to them all. I have hit many well known clubs for extended periods and always go back. The number complaint I hear is "They look like shovels". I don't care what they look like, I want them to hit well. AND THESE DO! Most of my friends try them out and they all talk about the club being the reason I can beat them. Then they go buy another top brand name (newer model) and still refer to my clubs as the reason I hit straight. Hmmm....let's think about that...I have not compared to any other Pings, so no comment there. If you can find them, HIT THEM!!
Cons: None Quality: Top notch construction with awesome grips. Solid look and a solid feel. Review Summary: Ignore the ignorant comments from people that are trying to make themselves feel better about their clubs. Solid Ping construction and great playable clubs!
