On 2002-09-02, Howard Lee rated this PowerBilt Slippery Frog a 5...(500)

Purchase: I had been looking at this club at Power Bilt's site for quite awhile and it seemed that it could be very useful. I found one listed on E-Bay and got it for $32.00. My clubs are Power Bilt's and I am very happy with their quality and value, so I had good feelings about the brand.
Pros: I have tried (unsuccessfully) to use a fairwary wood to get the ball out of the "frog-hair" near the green or when the ball is on the fringe just against the taller grass. The concept of a club with the length and feel of a putter, but with the wood shaped head seemed like a great idea. The head is weighed much heavier than a metal wood and the extra weigh seems to give the correct momentum to turn what was a very difficult shot into something nearly as easy as a long putt. My wife and I now carry it with us anytime we are in a situation just off the green. It has really taken the stress out of those tough shots. Very easy to get the ball close enough for a one putt, (if it doesn't just hole out)!
Cons: Nothing
Quality: Very well made, beautifully polished sole, and a very nice finish. Heavy enough to promote momentum and confidence. Great Slippery Frog embroidered head cover. (I think my wife really likes the head cover!)

Review Summary: If shot from just off the green in the rough or far on the fringe cause you tension or problems then this would be a great addition to your bag. They turn them into nothing more than a long putt. We actually look forward to those shot now, it's a fun club to use!
