Details: 2 piece ball with surlyn cover.
Purchase: Picked some of the runout models of the Laddie when Precept brought out the Laddie Extreme. As my handicap is now 10 thought I would try some the more expensive 3/4 piece balls, V1x, Maxfli A10, Optima Soft Core yet I am finding I am always coming back to the Laddie when it counts - Monthly Medals, money on the line with friends. Pros: It just feels softer to me than all the others tried and all round performance is great and it does not break the bank. Cons: Nothing. Purchase: I purchased four dozen laddie golf balls from Golf Galaxy at $9.99 per dozen. I had been looking for an economical ball that would deliver from tee to green. The Laddie delivered Big Time! Pros: The ball is extremely soft, you can say good bye to rock hard hits that sting the fingers. And get this, it is extremely long off the tee box. I putted for an eagle on a par five two days ago. Yes, it does the ego good when your partners ask, "who's ball is that way up there?" (In the fairway might I add). Oh, by the way, the ball rolls off the putter face like it was meant to; soft, sweet, and with a purpose. Cons: Peter Kessler should be promoting the laddie the perfect ball! Quality: After one round, the ball is very much intact and ready to be re-used. Review Summary: If you want a very high quality ball at a very affordable price, do yourself a favor and go get a dozen or two, or three... You won't be disappointed. Purchase: Bought at Dick's. $19.99 for a dozen. Pros: This has to be the most amazing ball of all time for the money. Very good distance, almost scuff proof, stops on a dime. Cons: nothing so far. Quality: Quality of this ball is top notch. As close to scuff proof as a ball can get. Review Summary: If you are a Pro V1 user, please try this golf ball. It goes farther, spins just as well, is more durable, and a lot less cheaper. I have played almost every golf ball known to man and nothing on the market is any better than this one. Putts roll straight and true. I hit down on my wedges hard and this ball will not scuff. Absolutely amazing for the price. The ball jumps and screams off the tee with consistent roll.
I loved the Wilson Smartcore Straight Distance, but for some reason Wilson discontinued the line. Weird. The Laddie beats the smartcore and every other ball I have ever used. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS BALL! On 2003-07-26, Frank Lane rated this Precept Laddie a 5...(1897)
Purchase: Edward Watts Golf, $19.99 a dozen Pros: This is the greatest golf ball for my game I have ever played. I bought on lark with a dozen Warbird balls. I played first round with double balls; 18 holes with each ball. My normal 18 hole score at my Pete Dye club is about 94.
That first round the Laddie produced a 86, the Warbird a 97.
Then I played two more rounds with the laddie. The second round was an 84, then yesterday was an 81, my lowest score ever at this course despite 3 lost balls.
The above proves I can still mis-hit this ball, but when I strike it even close to right it is as strait as a closeline. I went and bought 6 dozen today just in case it does not make distribution for next summer. Cons: I don't think the Laddie golfball looks very good, and the name sucks, sounds too much like lady. Quality: Review Summary: I will never play another ball as long as this one is available.
By the way, it is either longer, or the effect of hitting it straight at the hole has shortened my next shot. It is amazing and feels great when you hit it. On 2003-04-29, JS rated this Precept Laddie a 4...(1219)
Purchase: I acquired a dozen of these balls at the Sports Authority for 24.99. I had previously played the Precept Lady and was interested to see how the Laddie played. Pros: This is a great, cost-effecient ball that gives you good distance and good feel around the greens. I still prefer the softness of a balata ball like the Titleist Tour Balata or Professional, but I find those to cut somewhat easily. The Laddie holds up pretty well over the course of the round. Cons: I think the ball could come off with a little higher trajectory than it currently does. Quality: This is a well-made ball that will last over the course of the round and beyond. Little to no-scuffing even on mishits. Review Summary: The bottom line is that this is a relatively cheap ball that most golfers will enjoy. It provides length and feel for a good price. I highly recommend it to anyone that has never played a Precept ball before. On 2003-04-24, MNmike rated this Precept Laddie a 2...(1193)
Purchase: Golf Galaxy in Roseville, MN. $15.99/Dozen. Just thought I'd give them a try at this price. Pros: The price is right. That's about it. Cons: These balls are all over the place. I'm not a professional by any means (14 Handicap), but I've found more accuracy in ProV1's and even the NXT Distance products. Driving distance is good, but short irons distance is hard to control. This is what I would imagine it to be like if you were to hit a kid's rubber superball off your irons. Prone to some scuffing (not talking about cart paths or trees either!) Quality: Decent for the price, but you get what you pay for. What's with the scuffing on these and the Precept Lady golf balls? Review Summary: I'll be trying some other low compression balls before I'd buy these again. On 2003-03-25, fast eddie rated this Precept Laddie a 5...(1039)
Purchase: bought @ local golf warehouse Pros: balata soft Cons: not quit as long as the lady Quality: good quality ..lasts forever.Dosn't scuff as easily as the lady Review Summary: Another fantastic low cost alternative to the "Big name" Big bucks" brands without loss of quality or performance.Feels like scooping butter with all the irons.mmm mmm mmm On 2002-11-16, Laddie Killer rated this Precept Laddie a 5...(795)
Purchase: Bought a sleave at local links for $8.99, then 2 doz. at the shop for $19.99 per. Pros: The Laddie is no Lady. I have read that Precept merely repackaged the Lady into the Laddie. Good for them if it is true, this ball is the best all around ball I have ever played. It is long with high trajectory, controlled spin (for my occasional slice - yeah right), I get the mid irons way up and it has soft feel around greens. Be-u-ti-ful!!! Great price for anyone who loses balls at the rate that me and most of the knuckleheads I play with do. I can't imagine paying more for the fancy marketing packages that titleist and nike devote to their "performance balls". Wake up guys, Precept has delivered for us -No wonder the Storm Troop'in, Cold Warrior plays their balls. Cons: When I lose one it really pisses me off. Quality: Strong, playable over and over. I believe that any duffer who doesn't beat his ball into the ground by playing it as many rounds as possible is a coward. If I don't lose the sucker I can get 6/7 rounds out of it. Cover also durable- it takes repeated hits to the pin -haa!!!
As far as tech specs go - who cares. It stands up to anything on the course - I'll leave the tech mumbo jumbo to the girly men claim to be a 10 but seem to lose count out there after 5. Review Summary: Go out and get some. Stop listening to the goof balls who play Pro V1's and can't count past boegy. Be proud. Wear a wool cap. Think of yourself as a "Laddie" out for a walk in the fresh air. Stay out of those carts. Go to Scotland. Visit Mackrihanish (you'll get on).

Purchase: Bought at golf shop. Pros: Very long with driver but soft on short irons. Plays like a distance ball but soft as the old wound balls. Very durable. Great price at under $20. Cons: Nothing. Quality: High quality, soft feel but super long distance with driver. Review Summary: Super long ball but soft feel for short irons and putting. Great combination and value. Purchase: I bought a sleeve for $5 at my muni course. Having read the raves on the Lady and the Laddie and having just had a good experience with the Noodle, I thought I'd give it a shot. Pros: This ball has a wonderfully soft feel. It is playable around the greens -- more so than the Maxfli Noodle, which springs off the wedges and putter like a superball. This ball offers decent distance off the irons and a trajectory that is happily lower than the Maxfli Noodle. Also, this ball will hold the greens better than the Noodle. Cons: I expected more. This ball is not as long as the Noodle off the irons and certainly not off the woods. I swing hard and admittedly, this ball is probably a very bad match for me. It compressed like an utter marshmallow off the woods. I had more fun playing the Noodle and got much more distance. I could probably score better with the Laddie, because it's a more playable ball. It offers good feel around the greens. Quality: This is a very low compression 2 piece ball with a firm cover. Th quality seems to be first rate as with all Precept products. Review Summary: Overall, not the ball for me. I prefer the higher compression of the Maxfli Noodle (which is about as soft a ball as I think I should play). This ball is nicely playable for a distance ball. I suspect it would be a good choice for a great number of golfers, just not hard hitters like myself. Purchase: $9.99 For 3 at Golf Shop in British Columbia Pros: Went Higher and farther than I ever could have expected. They are so Accurate that i get it on the green 8/10 times Cons: Nothing, It is the Best ball i have ever played. Quality: Great quality and construction, and after 18 holes just put it through the ball washerand it comes out sparkling. Review Summary: This is the best ball ever made. it added at least 30 yards to my drives and is very accurate when putting. Bottom line, get some and get some soon. Purchase: Found it in the woods next to the fairway while playing a round of golf. Pros: This ball gets up. It not only has a steep trajectory off the driver, but also rises steeply off short irons in a very remarkable way. I found myself-after a few long drives with a mature tree line just before me and with the ball I mangaged to hit over the trees and onto the green. Cons: Someone told me that the Laddie is just the Precept Lady with a different name and that is OK with me and who wants a "sissy ball" but there is nothing "girlish" about this ball it drives long and the high trajectory is actually an advantage on "target" style golf courses. Quality: Precept balls always seem to stay clean--I have retreived Precepts that from the amount of algae on them had been sitting for a while in water hazards and found them after a cleaning to be fresh and clean. Review Summary: If you need to get the ball off the ground--you need look no further than this ball--the feel is pleasing and the ball holds up well--a ball you hate to lose.
