On 2006-10-03, Mr. Analytical rated this RAM SD (Soft Distance) Tour Titanium a 5...(7450)

Details: Comes in white only.

Purchase: I purchased a box of 18 balls at Big 5 Sporting goods. They were on sale for $10.
Pros: I've played 23 different makes of balls over the summer trying to find a ball that suited my beginner to intermediate game and swing speed. I wanted a soft ball that provided distance down the fairways and little bounce on the greens. The Titleist DT SoLo is my favorite. I found a pristine RAM SD Tour Titanium in the rough at a public course and played it off the next tee. I was amazed at the distance. When I got to the ball I actually checked to see if I had hit a DT SoLo! I hit my drives 220-230 with a left-to-center fade, 250-260 straight. The RAM carries about 5 yards less than the DT SoLo.
Cons: Waiting for them to go on sale. They cost $25 for 18 balls full price, $10 on sale.
Quality: I play these balls until I lose them. They hold up great, but they will scuff when playing the cart path for distance. I played one ball for more than two rounds before it decided to take up scuba diving.

Review Summary: Let's see.......hmmmmmm......60 cents for the RAM SD Tour Titanium or $1.80 for a Titleist DT SoLo? I buy the RAMs. When people ask me what I want for a gift, I tell them the DT SoLo.
