Purchase: I got this driver when I was in a golf store to see if the new Mac Gregor irons are in. I was looking around and found this driver, I figured for the price of
44$ I could not go wrong even if I could not hit the thing. I've had so many drivers in the past (name brands and all) but there was no consistency in my drives.
I've spent thousands of dollars for these drivers and always blame the clubs and not the swing or the golfer.( ha-ha-ha)
I've played one round with the RAM driver and I tell you, no fairways missed and all long, at least for me. (240-260 yrds).
Just handling the driver, it felt so right.
Hopefully it is not a fluke.
Now, I am so confident teeing it up and driving it.
I liked it so much that I ordered a second one online for around 31$ to keep as a spare in case I break it and they discontinue the club. Pros: First of all the price is unbeatable. The other thing is that it just feels so right when I hold this driver. Looks is okay.
I am past the point of having good looking clubs that I can not hit.
The head is so large that it gives you confidence.
Above all, the proof is in the drives. Cons: Nothing.
Even the grip feels good, although it looks to me that it may not last long. Quality: This driver is well constructed and the quality is above what a 44$ driver would look. Review Summary: The best driver I've ever had granted I only played with it one round.
Price is unbeatable and quality is above average.
Finally, the thing works!!

Purchase: I was looking for a new driver and wanted to try one of the new oversize 400cc and up drivers. I ran across the Ram 420 at The Golf Warehouse for 39.95 on-line. I figured I couldn't go wrong at that price and, since I use Ram irons, figured the quality would be better than a Wal-Mart special. Pros: This driver is everything I had hoped for. It has a beautiful deep maroon finish, quality Apollo shaft, and matching headcover. The best was yet to come however when I took it to the range. I couldn't hit a bad shot with this driver. Every shot was long and straight (or light fade) even on off center hits. I have played 6 rounds with this driver and have yet to hit a drive that I was disappointed in. Cons: I was dissapointed with the grip. Although it is a soft Winn style grip and felt great initially, it began to wear heavily during my first round with the club. I have since replaced the grip and have no other problems. Quality: The construction of the club is as good as any I have had. The club face still looks brand new after numerous trips to the driving range and 6 rounds played. My previous 3 drivers were a Taylor Made Ti Bubble II 5years ago, Taylor Made Firesole 3 years ago, and a Callaway Big Bertha Steelhead II that this club is replacing. The Ram 420 is as good (or better if you consider that the face looks brand new) than each of those so far. Hopefully now that Ram is owned by Tommy Armour Golf, they will continue to market the Ram line as a lower priced, high quality line of equipment. Review Summary: This is a high quality driver without the high quality price. It hits long and is very forgiving. Before I started using this driver I was playing tough second shots, now I am regularly hitting GIR's because I am hitting second shots from the short grass.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CLUB. On 2003-06-27, Gordy rated this RAM 420 Forged Titanium a 5...(1647)
Purchase: I have been searching for a driver that had all the characteristics that I like in a driver; such as consistency, solid feel and good looks. After searching for two years, I finally found the one that I will stick with. I came across it quite by accident. I was spending a Saturday afternoon at used golf shops, hoping to find a good pro style driver for a good price, which also had what I was looking for in a driver. I was about to give up when noticed a Golf Galaxy nearby. I pulled in just for something to do. Usually the stuff there is either out of my price range or such an odd brand that I wouldn't even think about buying it.
I walked in and, almost instantly, I was drawn to a very attractive looking driver. I went over to check it out and found it to be a Ram 420cc Titanium. I was really impressed with the price, wich was $46.99. I decided to try one out in the simulator room. They only had regular flex left ( I usually take a stiff flex in graphite), but I decided to try it out. Pros: Initally, I found that the regular flex Apollo Ballistik shaft that Ram uses would test out as a stiff on many other pro line drivers. The head and shaft is a rich burgandy red color, much like the Wilson Deep Red. In fact, if you looked at both drivers from a distance, you could not tell them apart.
For such a large head, it really sets up well. The weight is light, but not so light that it loses all clubhead feel. The sweetspot is enormous. The face has a closed angle of about two degrees, which helps with my slice.
When contacting the ball, the feel is really solid and the ball rockets off the face. The shaft measures out at 44 1/2 inches, so it doesn't feel like you are standing a mile away from the ball on your tee shots. Cons: My only complaint is that there is a perceptable distance loss on off center hits. Anything hit off center will lose about ten to fifteen yards. However, if you swing smoothly, the sweetspot is so big that off center hits will be rare. Quality: The head is made totally of forged titanium ( I am not sure what type, but I think it is beta). Both the head and shaft have a deep rich burgandy color that I really like. The shaft is Apollo Ballistik, regular flex; which is a lot stiffer than most manufacturers standard stiff shafts. It comes with a black Winn style grip.
In my opinion, the construction of this club is great; especially when you factor in the price. Where else can you get a brand new, forged titanium driver for under $200. Review Summary: I love this driver. Distance is predictable and consistent ( 240 yards every time, give or take five yards). The looks are striking and gives me a solid feel every time I hit the ball. I will stay with this club for a long time. I have used everything from Taylor Made 360 to Nicklaus Air Max to Tour Edge to Trinity Stilleto. This club beats them all.
