Purchase: I looked at several reviews of mid-priced clubs and had it narrowed down to these and a set of Tommy Armour 845's. When the FX2's hit the Golfsmith clearance rack for $120, I had to give them a try.
Pros: These are without a doubt the best clubs I've ever played - nicely balanced and forgiving. I usually struggle to break 100, but I have six straight rounds below 95 with the Rams. They are great clubs for a mid or high handicapper who wants a step up from the average beginner set, but isn't ready to commit several hundred bucks.
Cons: Ram has been bought and sold a couple of times recently (now part of Tommy Armour), so there is always the possiblity they could go out of business.
Quality: Good overall construction: 17-4 stainless steel, true temper shafts, lamkin crossline grips. I already have a small ding in the SW, so I hope they hold up as well at the more expensive stainless models.
