On 2005-03-13, Roger, Palm Harbor rated this Razor Carnivore a 5...(5178)

Purchase: I learned of Razor Golf from an open house they had locally in the Tampa area. They do promotions on a local sports talk radio show. I paid $379 for the set of irons and $109 for each wood. The driver went for $329 (graphite shaft)
Pros: It has been 10 years since my last purchase of irons. I've been playing with Callaway S2H2's and Steel Head woods. The Razor irons give me greater distance (10-15 yards) and are more forgiving. It's amazing some sales people I would talk to that would make negative remarks about this small company's products, without ever hitting a Razor iron or wood!
Cons: When I make a bad swing and don't get to see what the clubs can really do! I've had these 4 weeks and have not found a problem.
Quality: I've got the stainless steel shafts on the irons. They look great while over top the ball. The head of the irons appears large enough for a good sweet spot but not overwhelming in size. The woods are graphite shaft and Razor has gone with the Accuflex shafts. The colors of the woods are unique with a blue head that blends in well with the shafts.

Review Summary: I was way overdue for a new set of golf clubs, having beaten my old Callaways to death. I decided to demo Callaway Fusion, Callaway Big Berthas and a local company's product -- Razor Golf's Carnivores. I had purchased Razor's 7 wood a while back and ordered one of their Attack Wedges. Both of these clubs worked well, thus I decided to try the rest of the set. Prior to demonstrating the clubs, I was convinced I would be going with the Big Berthas or the newer Fusion model. Not the case. I could not believe the distance and solid feeling I was getting while hitting the Carnivores. The initial demonstration was with Callaway 7 irons and the Carnivore 8 iron. I struck them all virtually the same distance. Long story short, I now own all the Carnivore irons and woods including the 450cc driver. Price had absolutely nothing to do with my decision, but I don't mind the savings from not going with the Fusion. If you're looking for a new set of clubs, I suggest you order their free 50 degree Attack Wedge ($19.95 S&H, I think). The rest of the irons feel the same as this club.
