On 2005-03-31, Stillwater Phantom rated this Scotty Cameron Red X2 a 5...(5295)

Purchase: I've been looking around local retailers and on-line retailers for several months and finally found a great deal on Ebay...$190.00, still in the factory wrap and tape!
Pros: Well, first of all it's a Scotty Cameron, and think what some may about the price of Scotty's, they are the best on the market and the usage on the pro tours speaks volumes about that. I have a healthy collection of the Scotty's, all great putters in their own right. I was a bit hesitant about going to a mallet, though I used an original Odessy Rossi 1 for some time and before that an original Zebra...both great putters. The Red X2 (cneter shaft) has the perfect weight and feel for a mallet putter and when you swing it it acts more, to me anyway, like a blade than a mallet. Excellent grip...Baby T in red...great feel and visual. What is really impresive is the number of putts that you'll be dropping with this putter...the ball just seems to come off of the face much easier and with a much better pace and roll than other putters, other Scotty's included. I know it's pricey to some, but consider this...you only go around once and you might as well play with the best there is...look at what we pay for a drive that we use only a handfull of times during a round and unless you're really lucky and chip in or get a hole in one, you're going to be using that putter a lot. Check'em out for yourself...I think you'll see that the mallet X2 center shaft is a great putter.
Cons: Nothing...
Quality: Typical Scotty Cameron...first class all the way...materials, construction, appearance, feel.

Review Summary: As I said...I know the Scotty Cameron line is expensive but you're getting the quality that one should expect of a club of this caliber. And, look at the number of players on tour using Camerons...they must know something as their livelihood depends on their equipment.
