On 2003-08-06, Jack rated this See More FGP blade a 5...(1986)

Purchase: I have bought this putter twice. The first time I purchased it new at Supreme Golf for $120 before tax and I loved it for a little over a year until I started having trouble putting and of course blammed it and gave it to my grandpa. A few months later after rotating out various ping, scotty cameron, yonex, odyssey 2-ball, and other brands I made the switch back. This time I got one off of Ebay for $65.
Pros: I love the idea behind the putter. You hide the red dot and snap, the face is square to the line you have picked. It just takes out one more variable out of putting. It may be more of a piece of mind thing, but once I knew the red dot was trapped, I didnt worry about the line and concentrated more on distance control. There was tons of hype over the 2-ball putter when this putter had the same idea years before. The idea behind the putter is very Dave Pelzy and makes sense. The milled aluminum face makes a nice sound at impact and put a consistent roll on the ball. I think the putter would be awesome for a beginner or someone having putting trouble for the fact that the putter helps implement proper loft, alignment, and hand and eye position.
Cons: The only thing that I didn't like was that I could still open or close the face about a degree and still not see the red dot, but that wasn't a huge problem. My grandpa had trouble with distance on the putter, he hit a lot of putts long. Some people complain of getting distacted by worrying more about the red dot and the putter than the actual putt or stroke, but I never encountered that.
Quality: The putterhead is made of a single milled block of aluminum and is a blade style, but not a true blade such as the Wilson 8802. The shaft has about a 12 inch segment at the bottom that is coated black so it kind of looks like a BiMatrix shaft.

Review Summary: This is an awesome putter. Hard to find in stores so check on their website: www.seemore.com . Ebay and golfclubexchange.com usually have some up for auction too.
