On 2006-05-18, hutchfactor rated this Sharpro PTO Blue Midsize a 4...(6931)

Details: Being reviewed are the Blue indicating midsize. Red is standard, Pink for the ladies. The grips are top half cord, where your glove hand is, and nice soft rubber compound.

Purchase: I aquired the grips through a demo opportunity available in the forum on this website. The grips were free with the agreement to write a review here and on the SHarpro website.
Pros: I like the idea of the gloved hand having cord to grab onto(I always have used full cord in the past), and that your bare hand has the soft material to hold onto. The theory is you have the ultimate non slip grip on your glove hand and all the feel you could ask for in the other. The grips definately have more feel than the full cord I am used to playing with. I am not sure if they have as much overall feel however as the new Winn grips. Its kind of a compromise to get the best of both worlds. Also these grips were very easy to install compared to some regrippings I have done.
Cons: I found that these grips did seem to be a little more slippery on the one day I have played in hotter conditions(sweaty right hand)compared to what I am used to.(full cord)
Quality: Over all construction seems to be very good. One of the grips did start to split on the seam when I installed it but I had one extra and the problem did not occur again. Could have been my fault, not really sure.

Review Summary: Bottom line is this, if you want the best of what both types of grips(cord or rubber compound) have to offer in one grip then there is no other choice. However if you really like one type and not the other then you should probably stick with what you have.
