On 2005-03-23, Timmy from Pittsburgh rated this Slazenger Money a 5...(5240)

Purchase: I picked up this box of 12 on sale at Dicks Sporting goods for 16.50. I've heard good things about them, so I thought I'd give them a shot.
Pros: The ball is certainly not as long as the Slazenger Raw Distance, but it's much easier to control and feels much better off the club face. The Money ball is designed to be well rounded in all aspects, and it seems to me that's exactly what they are. They feel like butter off the club face, they're easy to control on and around the greens, and they're easy for a mid handicapper like myself to keep straight. The distance and spin balls tend to bring out the best in my slice.
Cons: Considering I bought them on sale for $16.50, I'd immagine they can be quite pricey. Aside from that... nothing.
Quality: The balls seem to be well constructed to me. This ball hasn't scuffed or became damaged unless it landed on stone or concrete. This is a softer ball so it will scuff on the path, but I've hit trees with the balls and was suprised to find them unscathed every time. I also like the use of dollar signs instead of numbers on the ball, it adds a unique touch.

Review Summary: This is a great ball fo someone who doesn't prefer a ball that puts all of its emphisis on one aspect of the game (i.g. distance, high/low spin, etc.). As a fairly average and improving player, I found the ball to be right for me mainly because it is so well rounded. It certainly has shaved strokes off of my game and ultimately that is what I was looking for. I recommend at least trying the ball, although I realize that all Slazenger balls can be quite expensive.
