On 2006-11-28, Phil rated this Slazenger Raw Distance a 2...(7535)

Purchase: I got these balls from a friend who didn't like the way they felt when hit. I paid him $10 for four dozen, quite a good deal for any name-brand ball.
Pros: These balls definetly fly truer and longer than any of the 'distance' balls I have used. When playing these balls I find my slice is virtually eliminated and I hit around 340 yards regularly.
Cons: They feel like you just hit a granite slab every time you hit a drive. They cause the worst stinging vibrations I have ever felt. They also come off irons and wedges with the 'hardest' feel I have yet to encounter. Also, if you happen to catch the ball with the toe or heel of an iron forget about any chance of a decent lie, they're unforgiving. They're also really awkward when putting. Somehow, they are even too 'hard' for a putter.
Quality: These balls have proven virtually indestructable. I've slammed them into trees, golf carts, and buildings without causing so much as a scuff. Concrete is the only thing I've found that can serious scratch them, they won't wound off your irons. These balls will play for a long time and are really well made.

Review Summary: If you are looking for added distance and don't care about your short game, these balls are just right for you. They hit like brick walls but fly like bullets. Its really a toss up depending on what you are looking for. I prefer to only pull these out when I'm trying to impress or intimidate someone, other than that, I don't really use these anymore.
