On 2006-02-27, Slazengerfan rated this Slazenger Raw Distance Fusion a 5...(6688)

Purchase: I buy Slazenger Raw Distance series balls whenever and wherever I can, and pay from $16 to $25 per box.
Pros: The pure distance balls, such as the old RD 408 and the Raw Distance Black, will add 20-30 yards to your drives. The Fusion gives up some of that distance, but provides better feel in the short game, particularly in chipping and putting.
Cons: The Raw Distance Fusion subtracts back the 20-30 yards that the original Raw Distance balls added to my drives. They are also a little more likely to pick up more sidespin than you want off your driver.
Quality: A high quality distance ball. I believe that it is two-piece construction with a surlyn cover. The 'panther paw' irregular dimple pattern helps a little in catching the grooves and gaining spin off the clubface. Unlike the old RD's, the fusions will lose a little skin to the grooves on wedges and short irons (Callaway in particular).

Review Summary: I'm a Slazenger fan for life. I just never have found any other brand of ball that I like to play as much.
