On 2004-01-20, SDawg rated this Snake Eyes Quick Strike Utility Heads a 5...(2677)

Purchase: Purchased components at Golfsmith and constructed clubs myself (14, 18, 22, 26, 30 degrees). Heads are mid-$30s, steel shafts are $6-8, grips and ferrules are inexpensive.
Pros: The clubs are easy to hit, and they get the ball into the air more easily and quickly then irons. I particularly like tha they are easier to hit than fairway woods (with which I have trouble). I also shortened the 22 deg. club's shaft, making it more conceptually like a "Perfect Club", and I use this club for run-up and chip shots near the green. I am able to shape shots (put a draw on the ball) better than with fairway woods.
Cons: Not so much a dislike, but: Even if you use regular flex shafts in your other clubs, you need stiff steel shafts to get the most out of these clubs. I had to reshaft one club from regular flex steel to stiff flex (I use Dynamic Gold S300s, btw). IMHO, graphite shafts, even stiff flex, are out of the question for these clubs. Also, I've not tried the 10 deg. driving club, but I've been told that it's more difficult to use than the other degrees.
Quality: Quality of the components is excellent. Construction is my own, and therefore (of course) meets my specs. :-)

Review Summary: These are good clubs, especially if you have trouble with fairway woods or long irons. Again, use stiff flex steel shafts to get the easiest, best use of these clubs.
