On 2003-11-16, Doug rated this Srixon Hi Spin a 5...(2552)

Purchase: I read an article in Golf digest that helped me find a ball that suited my game. I'm a 14 and don't hit a lot of greens so I wanted a ball with soft feel that wouldn't lose much distance and hold greens. I paid $21.95 for a dozen Srixon hi- spins at Fry's.
Pros: This ball has it all! Great feel, decent distance and they really hold the green!
Cons: Because they spin so much they are not a good wind ball.
Quality: Construction seems good. I played a whole round with the same ball and it still looked fine after eighteen holes and a few cart paths!

Review Summary: I tried Srixon hi-spin, Titelist so-lo, Top Flite Infinity, Callaway CB1 and Pinnacle power core soft feel. The Srixon and Titelist had noticeably better feel than the others follwed closely by the Pinnacle; Callaway and Top Flite were not even close! If you are tired of losing balls at $3 a pop I definitely recommend, in this order: Srixon hi-spin ($21.95 doz), titleist so-lo ($21.95 doz), Pinnacle power core-soft feel ($16 for 15 pack).
