On 2003-08-31, P.J. Evans rated this Srixon Soft Feel a 3...(2207)

Purchase: Bought a dozen at the local golf course. Had heard good things about this brand. So, for $24.00 - figured it was definitely worth a try.
Pros: Good distance with both the driver and irons. Durability was also quite well when I missed the fairway and skipped onto a cart path or tree. Good feel and low compression is tailored for my lower speed swing (88-92mph).
Cons: Terrible stopping ability. Ball doesn't spin well at all. But, in defense of this ball - it doesn't state that it does. It offers a soft feel and long distance. Unfortunately, when approaching the green, this ball is made for the bump and run.
Quality: The construction is a two-ball with soft feel when stuck with irons, woods or putter. Very durable.

Review Summary: Overall, I thought this ball had good distance and feel. My game has evolved to the point where stopping ability has become more important than distance. As I continue to search for the perfect ball for MY game, I prefer the Titleist SO/LO - but I'm still looking...

Purchase: Originally won six of these at Sedona Golf Resort. Then bought six dozen at a course in Flagstaff (AZ) where they were trying to get rid of them. Paid $18/doz.
Pros: This is just a great all-around ball. I had been playing Pro VI's and still have two dozen because the Srixons are so great. The combination of distance, trajectory, spin and feel just seems to be the best I've found (after playing a BAZILLION different balls over the past 40+ years).
Cons: The downside: (1) No one can pronounce the name ("Is this your ball -- a Zircon 2?" (2) dolts who don't know golf think you're playing a cheapo off-brand ball.
Quality: Reasonably durable -- I don't try to get more than 18 holes out of a ball. I now have many of these in my shag bag and they are holding up as well as the Pro VIs.

Review Summary: This is definitely my ball of choice as long as I can keep finding them. It reminds me of the Precept MC Lady, but for me the distance seems a little better. It may just happen to work with my fairly low swing speed (230 off the tee). I've heard nothing but good about Srixon and am considering one of their drivers.
