On 2004-09-14, Gunny Strickroth, U.S. Marine rated this Srixon I-302 IRONS a 5...(4379)

Purchase: Purchased during demo day aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot - Parris Island @ a discount rate of $490, MSRP $799.
Pros: These irons are absolutely pure: These irons are ideal for a low to mid handicapper looking for a very forgiving club that allows the ultimate in playability. Irons have a very thin top-line @ address w/ a traditional set-up; however, the forging process used on these irons allow them to play like any modern day cast/easy to hit club. They come standard w/ Rifle Shafts and specs can be ordered thru factory.
Cons: The only downfall is Srixon does not carry the Rifle 5.5 Shaft, so a 40 year-old Marine like myself has to either go a little strong w/ the 6.0 Rifle or down to the 5.0.
Quality: I have always thought Mizuno has made the best forged clubs in the business; however, this set is every bit as good, if not better. These clubs typically do not feel as soft as the Mizuno Forged Irons and they apparently play that way as well since I've now got over 30 rounds on them and the loft & lies have not changed one bit.

Review Summary: The bottom line is this: HIT THEM ONE TIME & YOU"LL KNOW EXACVTLY WHAT I MEAN! Even though it's forged, it's the most forgiving iron I've ever played, to include cast irons. Most of us spend eternity looking for the right club...well here they are...They are just not the brand name you're used to hearing.
