Details: Srixon I-506 with Lamkin Dual Density grips, Project X shafts 6.5 [standard upgrade] 1* strong, 2* flat
Purchase: I purchased the clubs from Palm Beach Golf in Florida, It was a long process of custom fitting which everybody should do. I tested all the usual suspects, and came to this unbelieveable set of Irons. I paid $650 off the rack, and the custom adjustments were included. Srixon also offers Project X shafts as standard...DONT BE FOOLED INTO PAYING EXTRA...THEY COME THAT WAY!!!
Pros: This set of clubs are truly amaizing..I was playing a set of Titleist 670 blades, and decided that I was finished with the slight miss-hits costing me strokes, so I decided to join the cavity back generation. [Tiger Woods Im not!!!!] The one thing I required from a set of cavity backs was a thin top line..I dont want to be looking at a shoe on the end of a stick after playing with blades...This set boasts a thin top line like a set of blades with the forgiveness of a cavity...I still work the ball beautifully, and can stop and spin my ball [Srixon UR-S] up to an 8 iron in the right conditions. I Started with a 7.7 HCP and have shaved off 3.2 strokes with the addition of these clubs and the Srixon W-504 Driver...So I am a Srixon Player through and through, except for the Titleist Spin Milled Wedge 58*, and the Sonartc wedge 52*...I also play the Srixon AD series Utility Wood. and Sonartc 3 wood. The feeling of a pure hit on the face is like a Sledge Hammer, and a miss-hit still reacts well and loses only about 5%...I play in a foursome with a couple of 20 HCPers. Well one of them forgot his clubs and I let him use mine for the round...He shot an 82 with my clubs and has subsequently purchased a new set for himself and has shaved at least 6 strokes a round..They have decreased his high slice, and lowered his ball flight, and decreased his side spin dramatically. As for the better player... Hit them once on the range and you'll see the difference..They are extremely forgiving, yet you dont sacrifice workability, and feel one bit...Why do you think the number 2 player in the world loves them so much, and since the switch to this brand picked up his game from 7th to second??....They are the number 1 club maker in Japan for a reason...
Cons: Absolutely nothing...
Quality: The clubs are built to last, and Last they will...
Review Summary: Play this set and watch your scores drop...
