On 2003-06-21, Michael Haynes rated this TaylorMade 420 Burner a 5...(1589)

Purchase: I purchased this driver for $299 at Sports Authority. I was looking for a forgiving driver with plenty of distance
Pros: After hitting several demos, I found the 420 burner to be the most forgiving driver out there. The feel and weight make this club very comfortable to swing. I have been playing for 4 months, but the way I hit this driver I hear a lot of people say there is no way you have been playing just 4 months. It is great tio be able to play with the confidence knowing that even my mis-hits barely miss the fairways.
Cons: There were a few demo drivers that I hit further, but I still gladly give up the extra 20 yards for the forgiveness this club has.
Quality: Top of the line technology, and very sharp looking. The flames on the shaft give this club a appearance of a driver with ATTITUDE.

Review Summary: I see the 420 burner on e-bay now for $199, and 2 of my friends have already switched to it. For the value I think this is the best club on the market.

Purchase: After reading some reviews and demo'ing other drivers (i.e. Titelist 975j, Wilson Fatshaft), the 420 seemed to be the most forgiving. Dick's Warehouse $279.00 (free head cover)
Pros: Its hard to slice or hook even if you give it your all. As a high handicapper, having a driver I can hit is a real confidence booster.
Cons: nothing, so far so good
Quality: Grafite shaft, 402cc. I've only had it for 6 wks but it seems durable.

Review Summary: A freind in my foresome thought I hit it so well last week, a friend in my 4some, but the same driver on the way home from the golf course (really!)
