Purchase: Before play at a local golf course, I was looking around the pro shop and I happened to find a large demo selection of the 500 series by Taylor Made. What was great about my find was the fact that I had already placed a bid for such a driver on ebay, without ever hitting an oversized head driver. So, I gave the cashier my drivers license in exchange for a practice round with the club.
Pros: What I found in this driver was what I had been looking for......distance ! Based on my prior playing experiences on the course, and against the others in my group, I can honestly say that I was getting upwards of 25 more yards with the 580 driver verses my old driver. Though not my favorite feature, its size seemed to reduce my normal hook.
Cons: It's size. I like a mid size head, which the 580 is almost twice the size as my old driver's head. Also, cost...at around $399 (plus tax), it is hard to justify paying retail when one has a family of three !
Quality: From what I experinced from the brief time I played with th edriver, all indicators seemed to indicate it was of quality material(s) and construction. In my opinion, it is an attractive club, size not included.

Review Summary: After playing with the club I was dead set on getting one. In fact, I have since purchase a 580 driver......but not at retail !
