Purchase: I bought this driver online @ golfsmith.com for a steal at 99.99 USD. i shopped around at some different golf stores and found this driver in the price range of between 199.99 to 349.99 CAN.
Pros: I like the very large clubface which makes striking the ball very easy as well as how forgiving this club really is. Before i bought this club i was using the John Daly "yardstick" which i was having major problems correcting my huge slice off the tee. After using the burner, i still have a slight slice(which is due to my swing) but i have been hitting alot more fairways than before.
Cons: The grip on this is ok on dry warm days, but when it gets wet, look out! The thing is like a spear in your hands, very SLIPPERY WHEN WET!(had to get the bonjovi reference in there). So i got a new grip put on and it works great in all weather.
Quality: Construction of this cluyb is very tight and very well constructed. Taylor Made products seem very sturdy and strong. One weird thing with this club tho is sometimes when i hit this club with certain balls, the club face sparks. maybe it's just from all my power(wink).

Review Summary: The bottom line is i would recommend this club to anyone looking for a quality top of the line driver for a frzction of the price. awesome driver.

Purchase: I had the 320 and loved it. The bad part was that the face split and sent it back for warranty considerations. Taylor Made stated the 320 was no longer available. They replaced it with the 420 at no cost!
Pros: Everything about this club is wonderful for the exception of the grip. Love the looks especially the groves on the top of the head. Kind of like the cross hairs on a scope of a rifle, very easy to get set up. Even the mis hits for me go 250 plus the good one's average 280 plus. My best drive ever won a long drive contest at 338 yards.I'm taking this club to the grave, until death do us part. Best is I can hit it 300 when I have to!
Cons: I heard some negative comments reguarding the shaft, I really love the shaft as well. No negatives here
Quality: Nice black shaft gun metal grey painted head, the sifgts on the head are awesome for getting set up!Best driver I have ever hit blows away the 510 540 and 580 I hit em all. However the Clevland launcher and the Titelist 983 were a very close second. But compare the price it is a no brainer!

Review Summary: Best bang for the buck, best keep secret in golf nobody knows about it. I have had two friends who purchased it as well, let me tell you they have a love affair with it as well. Danny who seldom could hit more than 240 averages 250 plus and i'm talking the short grass! Do not tell your competition about it, it will come back to haunt you later! Thanks my best Joe 5 handicap

Purchase: I purchased this at Uinta Golf in Sandy, Utah for $219.
Pros: Everthing.
Cons: Nothing, although I did have the shaft replaced with a Fujikura Vista Tour 70 X flex.
Quality: Top notch, excellent quality, very durable paint! Will not scuff when hits occur at the top of the face.

Review Summary: After having this reshafted with a shaft that better fit my swing, I fell completely in love with this club. With the stock shaft I fought the tendancy to fade or even slice the ball, but now I draw the ball every time. I have a quick tempo, and a swing speed of about 110mph, and I usually have drives around and even over 310 yards. I typically carry about 280 yards, and the 8.5 degree plays more like 9 or 9.5. The club face has a very large sweet spot, and is very forgiving, so even my misses end up aroung 275-290. I have a friend that plays with the 580 TP, and I hit this club consistantly farther than he does, and he used to outdrive me! Don't spend the money for any of the 500 series if you can find this club for sale.

Purchase: Purchased at a retail store for $289
Pros: This driver is great! It has added 25+ yards to my drives and its smaller than the 580 Model which has allowed more control. But that is just the beginning; what really amazed me is how far "miss hits" travel. The size and feel of this club are comfortable and it seems to generate a lot of distance 275+ yards with no additional effort. I had a 310 yard drive last week! Not bad for a bogey golfer!
Cons: Taylor Made needs to improve the grips on all of their clubs. The standard grip that Taylor Made puts on their clubs are extremely slick when they get wet. I put a tour wrap grip on the Burner 420 and now I love it!
Quality: The construction and quality of this club has exceeded my expectations. Several times I have caught the ball on the upper part of the club head and the club still looks brand new. Don't be afraid to swing this one.

Review Summary: This is a great buy for any golfer looking to purchase a driver with a larger club head that allows for increased distance with no additional effort. The accuracy and forgiveness of this club have really increased my confidence off the tee. This has been the best club I have ever purchased!

Purchase: I purchased this driver from a client (who just happens to own a golf shop) who owed me a favour. Payed his cost for it, and he'd rather me not disclose the amount. It's a good 25% under what it normally would retail for on sale.
Pros: I chose this particular driver over the new R500 series drivers as it has a deeper face, opposed to the longer face the R500 series Taylor Made's have. I've been playing golf for a little while now and consistantly hit the centre of the driver face, and did not require the more forgiving R500. Besides, it was a lot cheaper and tends to have similiar traits to the R500; so this was the correct selection for me.
Cons: There's not too many things I dislike about this club. I like the design, feel and weight when swinging. I had already made up my mind going in. Although one pet peeve is that Taylor Made should use stickers that can be removed off the shaft if so desired by the purchaser. The white stickers (from the factory) left a awful sticky, tacky residue which takes a little bit of elbow grease to clean up.
Quality: I've only had the pleasure of playing with this driver for a limited time of 2 rounds. The quality of the driver is what you would expect from any Taylor Made product and seems to be quite sturdy and well made.

Review Summary: As stated, my intentions going in was to purchase this club. Although while I was at my clients golf store, he put me in a swing analysis room where you hit into a large video screen. Although he taped up about 5 different drivers (including the R500) the 420 burner seemed the best bang for the buck. I'm happy with the product and it has already delivered quality play in the short time I've had it.
