On 2006-05-14, AAAAYES rated this TaylorMade Pittsburgh Persimmon a 4...(6916)

Details: 17* Loft, Steel Shaft Reg.

Purchase: Online auction for what...$25? You really cant beat it.
Pros: I prefer a smaller head on my fairway woods. Its a very simple design, compact and it just looks right at address. This 17* gem is from the stone age, however, it does have a place in the bag for specific ranges when a 4 or 5 iron is no where near my bag. The semi solid steel head gives a firm confirmation upon impact. Its a feel of 'ah... sweet spot-well done' response. A Persimmon gratification to be exact. There are very few clubs that were made right during the evolution of golf equipment...this one gets my vote.
Cons: It would be only fair to present the other side of the coin. I havent been able to work the ball like I would like to...this gives me just one means of attack, straight-straight-straight w/consistant distance of 200-210yds and strong medium flight. So, my shot with this club is limited with my abilities.
Quality: Heavy-Solid Old School Made...

Review Summary: Reading everyone elses reviews gives me the sense that, Im just an ill-equiped golfer. Placing hopes of getting thru a round with gear that would just be laughed at on the course. Sure, I guess I would give a rye smile to someone who carries a Driver and 4 fairway woods. Isnt the goal is to get to the hole with the least amount of shots? how we get there is our own personal journey that we walk on our own.
