On 2003-08-01, rod brown rated this TaylorMade Steel Head a 5...(1945)

Purchase: I needed some consistency off the grass along with a comfortable distance control at 190 yards so I went for the Taylor Made 7 wood. I wanted something I could draw a little and still get some height
Pros: I like the comfort of its looks and consistency. I can hit it almost 200 off the tee and get about 190 from the fairway and also get it out of some pretty deep rough - which I see a lot of. Even tho I am a senior with average club head speed, I have the "S" shaft, which actually checks out on the machine to be a low stiff or high regular.
Cons: I'm disappointed in the factory manufacturing inconsistencies although not too surprised. I've had to have the heads removed on 2 of their fairway metals and had the shafts rotated to get correct orientation.
Quality: Other than the above issue I think they are well put together.

Review Summary: I really like the club and plan to have 3 or 4 of them matched up.
