On 2005-09-18, Fred rated this TaylorMade 300 Forged Irons a 5...(6206)

Purchase: I bought a brand new set of the Taylor Made 300 Forged irons as I thought I fould benifit from using a softer iron and also to encourage me to become a better ball striker. I got the irons from American Golf local to me, and I paid a very good price. They were on the shelf for 549 pounds reduced to 399 in the sale. So I payed in part exchange along with 260 pounds.
Pros: These irons are unbelieveable!!!! They are more forgiving than my previous cavity backed set, and as they are softer they are imparting more spin on the ball, which is good as I tend to fire the ball at the flags. I am now spinning the ball backwards on the second or third bounce regularly. The most impressive thing is the long irons. Apart from their frogiveness, the distange I am achieving is amazing. On a 420 yard par 4 at my local golf club there is a ditch running across the fairway at about 275 yards from the tee. I stood on the tee with a slight helping wind and pulled out the 3 iron. I nailed it down the middle to about 20 yards short of the ditch. 255 yards with a 3 iron!!!!!.
Cons: NOTHING.
Quality: The quality is what you would expect from Taylor Made. Very, very good indeed. Lovely construction and look amazing.

Review Summary: Brilliant clubs. Would recommend them to anyone who can strike the ball reasonably well. Best clubs I have ever hit in every respect. I have played 2 rounds with these clubs since I purchased them. According to my handicap I should shoot 88, I have shot 86 and 82 and I'm not even used to them yet.
