On 2007-07-05, Forgedirons rated this TaylorMade R7 TP a 5...(7834)

Details: This set is standard except for the shafts, which are Project X 6.0.

Purchase: The only place I could find a set without waiting for four to six weeks was ebay. I paid a bit less than I would have paid in a store for the standard shafts, and got the Project X 6.0 shafts as a bonus.
Pros: I love the project X shafts. The r7 TPs are cavity back irons that look like blades.I found them to be VERY forgiving. At the same time you can easily work the ball with them. These irons also have excellent feel for a cast cavity back.
Cons: There is nothing that I dislike about these irons. The only 'negative' that I can come up with is that the feel is different from that of a forged blade.
Quality: Excellent! These are very high quality golf clubs. No wonder so many of the Taylor Made Tour Staff are playing them.

Review Summary: The r7 TPs are great golf clubs, with the Project X, but only average with the stock dynamic gold. Nevertheless, if you're looking for an iron that looks like a blade and allows you to work the ball like a blade, but is very forgiving, these are for you!

On 2007-03-26, P.Lo from Tampa rated this TaylorMade R7 TP a 5...(7700)

Details: Taylor Made R7 TP's W/steel Dynamic Gold S300 Shafts. 5-Iron thru PW only.

Purchase: Purchased from the Edwin Watts store in Tampa, FL. Paid $685 (5I - PW)
Pros: After 2-months or demoing several different irons, Callaway X-forged, Taylor Made RAC MB's, Mizuno MP60's and 32's, the Adam's Idea Pros and the Titleist 755's, these irons were suprisingly forgiving, very soft, very simple set-up at address and allow the workability that one looks for in a players club. I do have the Mizuno MP32's in the other bag.... But, if I'm looking for a comfortable round, with lit'l to worry about in the irons.. It's the T/M R7TP's, without a doubt.
Cons: The only thing I found to complain about was the loss of about a 1/2 club length. Then after inquiring, I find out I should expect this going from a game improvement iron to a players club.
Quality: Taylor Made, Callaway, Mizuno, Titleist... You can't go worng either way.

Review Summary: Don't be discouraged by the name 'Players Club'. They are more forgiving than you would expect and once you try them you're hooked.
