Purchase: I got the clubs on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods for $499. That was a great deal for graphite shafts. In addition, I was custom fitted for free and the delivery time on the clubs was about two weeks - well worth the wait. I've searched all over the web and that's the best price I have found. Pros: These clubs actually do what the manufacturer claims they can. They are light weight, which helps my swing speed and the heads are well designed and get the ball into the air quickly, with a slight draw - as advertised. I had the lie adjusted upward by 3 degrees to suit my particular swing. I have a tendency to push the ball right at times. These are the most forgiving clubs that I have ever played and I feel really confident on the course. I've only played a round, but I can see the improvement already. It's almost like Taylormade designed these clubs exclusively for me. Cons: Besides the grips being a little smoother than I'm used to, these clubs are perfect. I just have to adjust my grip pressure slightly to compensate. Quality: All the RAC technology really works and the clubs (though light weight) feel very solid and the heads are constructed very well, which you expect from a company like Taylormade. I've tried the Nike Slingshots NDS's and the MacGregor V Foils - While they all tout game improvement for the average golfer - They don't hit the mark like the TaylorMade RACS. Review Summary: Trust me, the clubs are a little pricey, but they are well worth it and you'll probably get years of play out of these clubs. There is nothing like getting a set of clubs that suit your swing tendencies and are custom made. I've actually had to "club down" to compensate for the increased distance I am getting, per club - without having to swing harder. That equates to a more stable and consistent swing for me. Less effort, better shots - isn't that what we all want?

Purchase: I hit these clubs at a couple of local pro shops and liked them better than my Callaway Big Bertha Irons. They RAC technology is impressive, they clubs are lighter than my Callaway irons. Ultimately I bought them on an impluse looking DicksSportingGoods.com for about $100 less than the local shops sold them for (paid $400 w/ steel shafts). Pros: These irons feel great! They get the ball up into the air quickly, but do not seem to balloon the ball up too high (even though they are designed to produce a higher trajectory). There is also a very subtile draw bias in the design,.... again this is a value added (nothing wrong with being slightly left). The finish looks great too. Taylor is really good at the asthetics,... the clubs have a slick modern look to them with a satin finish. I don't pay a traditional set (3-P), my set is 4-A Wedge. The extra wedge helps me round out my short game better, and I carry a hybrid fairway iron to cover the traditional 7 wood and 3 iron gap. Again, it works for me and it was something I became used to from the callaway set witch is standard 4-A wedge. For the RAC set I had to buy the A wedge after-market from Edwin Watts. Cons: The grips! Taylor stock grips are like holding saw blades! Change the grips, don't even swing the standard grips. I regripped them with the lamkin Dual Density Crossline (the new green grips). But grips are all about what feels good. So try a bunch of different kinds, Winn, Golf Pride, Lamkin, etc. Quality: The construction is very good, but that is typical (I think) of all pro-grade products. The quality control at Taylor is about the best in the business from what I can tell. By that I mean you cannot tell the difference between the A-Wedge I bought after-market from the consistent look of the rest of the set. Review Summary: A+! Taylor hit a homerun with these. I'll play them for about three-years and then I'll look to newer techology. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Taylor line of RAC irons.
