Details: They have steel shafts w/ regular flex.

Purchase: I purchased these clubs from a local golf center new, for $500. I looked at Mizuno MX 23 and some Callaway irons sets also. I hit them all but liked the distance and feel of the RAC O/S.
Pros: I first noticed the greater distance. About 20 yards average more per club. They were forgiving, on the longer irons it was more noticeable. They have a nice ball flight and you can miss hit and still get a decent shot with them. I'm very happy I got these.
Cons: I don't have any real complaints about how they hit but,,,,,. The thickness of the top line on the clubs is thicker than what I'm used to. I was expecting better grips also. I am more then willing to deal with that though.
Quality: They look sharp and feel good. I have always liked Taylormades' reputation and thses irons show it.

Review Summary: Over-all I think it was a geat purchase. The clubs brought some confidence to my game and I hit them well. The balls are flying straighter and longer. I thought the price was worth it. I also had to go and buy the R5 driver to go with the irons.

Purchase: WENT TO A DEMO DAY AT PETES GOLF CONNECTION IN CANBERRA AUSTRALIA,TRIES 4 SETS OF DIFFERENT IRONS ON THE PRACTISE FAIRWAY,HIT A GOOD 25 BALLS WITH EACH TO MAKE SURE I GOT MY CHOICE RIGHT $1084(AUD).
Pros: GOOD WEIGHT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE IRONS,I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO GET SPIN ON A BALL UNTIL I GOT THESE IRONS,THEY ARE A GOOD FEEL OUT OF THE SWEET SPOT & EVEN WHEN YOU DONT QUITE GET IT THERE STILL PREETY GOOD.
Cons: THE GRIPS.I HAD NEW CORD GRIPS PUT ON THEM.
Quality: AWESOME LOOKING CLUB & WELL FINISHED OFF.

Review Summary: THESE ARE THE CLUBS TO GET ME BACK TO SINGLE FIGURES AFTER A 7 YEAR LAY OFF.
