Details: Graphite and steel, have both. 2 degrees up, +1 1/2 length.
Purchase: Online. Pros: The R7 XD's have a nice heavy head and are great on off center hits. The head absorbs a lot of vibration too. Sets up well when fit. Confident look at address. Probably one of the best looking irons TaylorMade ever produced. Cons: Nothing really. The new R7 is even a little better, but not much. TaylorMade makes a great product but is a little pricey at times. Quality: Overall great quailty. Solid on hits. Review Summary: You can find a new set of these for $425 on ebay, or a used set for maybe under $200 if you're a lucky bidder. Both are worth it. I think they are better than the OS2's, but not quite as good as the new R7's. You don't see sets of these in stores much anymore due to the new R7 line.

Details: r7 xd steel shaft stiff flex
Purchase: I got my clubs new off of ebay for $589.00 for the 3-pw. great deal they were $799.99 at my local golf store. Pros: These clubs are game changing irons. I used to play ping blades and decided to try these at a demo day. Wow the distance I gained is incrediable. I am 2 clubs longer. I hit pw 145-150 with no effort. Although I can not work the ball as well with these irons I was willing to give that up for the feel and distance I get with the r7 xd's Cons: nothing. These are the best clubs I have played to date. I can't imagine playing anything else. Quality: excellent. Low center of gravity that make the club easy to hit in the air. very predictible product. Review Summary: awesome give them a try if you can find them anywhere. On 2006-05-18, Jim rated this TaylorMade r7 XD a 5...(6929)
Details: Graphite Stiff 65 gram Shaft, 3 - PW, Standard loft and lie.
Purchase: Purchased on e-bay for $675 after testing them out at several Taylor-Made demo sites. Took a little longer to get the irons with the stiff shaft, but worth the wait. Pros: Great feel and I'm at least one club longer and straighter with every iron compared to my previous Mizuno MX-23s. Ball explodes off the face with a great trajectory. Every shot feels like a Sweet Spot shot. Best irons I've ever played. They are very easy to hit with confidence and have great playability. Grips are okay, but I'll probably change them next season.
No changes necessaary so far for loft and lie.Ball flight is straight. Cons: I'm happy with everything so far. I tried the r7 CGB irons, but they were too light for me and had a very high trajectory. Quality: Very good quality. Shaft looks good with club. Review Summary: Try these at a Taylor-Made demo site. You'll be glad you did. Great irons for all types of players!
