On 2005-02-05, CLEE rated this TaylorMade Rescue 19* TP Version a 5...(4998)

Purchase: Local Golf Store in Charlotte, NC; paid 279.00 for the TP 19 degree.
Pros: The club has lived up to the hype!!! After reading Golf Digest's Review "Hot List" for 2005 (Feb 05), I decided to finally go out and buy the club. I have never carried a 3 iron since it never gets used and weights the bag down. Nonetheless, when needed I have always "eased" off my 5 wood or "striped" my 4 iron if I was between yardage. I have found that my 5 wood was inconsistant and my 4 iron was never enough to reach the green on long holes. The Rescue Club 19 degree was perfect! I went to the range and was hitting it 200-205 on normal shots, 180 on easy swings and 220 on turbo-charge. What a great club!!! By the way, my driver swing speed ranges between 95-105; the TP shaft was not too much club! The shaft freqenced at 259 at 42 inches, so do the math - not too stiff as you would think on the Vista Pro 90. Bottom line, it's a great club to replace long irons or even fairway woods. I am now thinking about buying the 14 degree TP to replace my 3 wood and 22 degree TP in leui of my 4 iron. Yes, it's a lot of money to throw down but think about all the bets you'll win from your golfing buddies. (By the way, I am even going to get side bets on reaching every par 5s on two - this club is that GOOD!)
Cons: Without saying, the PRICE!!! The sole of the club is painted black on the back half of the head, after hitting it on the range, some of the paint has been scatched. But it's just a personal issue.
Quality: I have been a Taylormade fan since I started playing golf... This club is no difference.

Review Summary: ***Green Fees with cart = $100.00 ***Dozon of balls = $40.00 ***Hotdog and drinks = $15.00 ***Shaving strokes and putting buddies to shame with a 4 under = PRICELESS!!!
