Purchase: I found this on e-bay for $90.00 including shipping. The tour has had a lot of the pros trying these, and I wanted to see if they would help in hitting high, soft-landing shots for long par 3's. Pros: I am really pleased with this club because it does what it claims it will do. Very long. I initially bought this to put in the bag to replace the tree iron and I am using it instead of a five wood. 225+ yards no problem. Shots are high and straight, but I am able to hit a fade or draw if I want to with it. Precision steel shaft in stiff flex is a great fit. Slightly shorter than the graphite shaft so its easier to control. The head is pretty heavy, so you feel like there's a lot of momentum behind the shot. Cons: Shots from the fairway can be a little high in trajectory if there is a strong wind in your face. However, because I am now using this in lieu of a 5 wood, I was able to keep my 3 iron in the bag to use when I need to keep it low into the wind. Quality: Very solid. The Taylor Made stock grip really stunk, so I regripped it right away. Other than that, nice club. Review Summary: High, long-flying shots with ease of use. I would reccommend the steel shafted version, as it feels more like an iron, yet still has the distance of a fairway wood. Great club. I have gotten a lot of use out of it.

Got this club off E-bay. Paid $90.00 including shipping. With so many pros putting these in their bags, I thought I'd try it. Pros: I like the weight of the club, first of all. It has a lot of weight behind it compared with a 3 iron (I play Ping O-size). Lets the club do the work for you. Intuitive set up. Good build quality. It is slightly longer than my 3 iron, but with a much higher ball flight. Does not balloon, though. 196 yard par 3 into a cold 25 mph head wind in late Minnesota November, and 20 feet from pin! Does what Taylor Made says it will. I like the steel shaft as it is slightly shorter than the graphite and less expensive. Also stell makes it feel more iron-like than just another fairway wood. Cons: I'm not a fan of the new Taylor made grips at all. I think they're called "TNG" or something to that effect. Not much gripping power to them, and oil from hands makes them really slick. You'll need a damp towel to keep wiping them with to get any tackiness. Quality: Quality seems good upon initial reaction. I've had this club a short time, so I'll have to see how the finish holds up over time. Precision microtaper stiff steel shaft is very accurate and solid feeling. Head has a lot of pop and a crisp sound when struck. Review Summary: I am very happy with this club. I think it is great for long par 3's when you need to hit it high and land it soft. The length this club affords may have you replacing your 5 wood with one of these clubs. Good quality. I would suggest E-bay as the place to purchase. I saved 64.00 off retail. Hit it first, but I think you'll like it.
