On 2005-09-10, David R. rated this TaylorMade RescueDual 19* a 5...(6177)

Purchase: I acquired this club because I wanted a little more control and confidence off the box on tight driving holes. Purchased from Golfsmith for $180 in a steel shaft.
Pros: I like everything about this club. It's extremely easy to hit and does everything I expected -- accuracy, consistency and LENGTH off the box. I play in Denver where the air is thinner and the ball travels slightly farther. Even so, I'm consistently averaging 250 to 260 yard drives and better yet, I'm hitting more fairways on those tight holes. This club is also amazing out of the ruff. Overall, I don't give going for par 5's in two (whether in the ruff or fairway) a second thought with this club. I've played numerous rescue/hybrid clubs including the Hogan and Cleveland Halo, but the Taylor Made Dual out-performs anything else I've ever hit, hands down. It's a little more pricy than most of its competition, but with most everything else, you typically get what you pay for!
Cons: I have the steel stiff shaft which might take a little getting used to for graphite fans. However, I find the additional weight of the steel easier to control than a lighter graphite shafted club. While the weight inserts are easy to change, it seems ridiculous that the TM wrench tool kit is sold separetely for $30. Taylor Made tries to justify this on the FAQ section of their website, but it's still a rip off! Better players can opt for the TP model, and even though the Dual sets up for a draw bias, I found it fairly simple to work the ball in either direction. I'll probably return the tool kit and put the $30 to better use.
Quality: High quality contstruction as would be expected from Taylor Made.

Review Summary: Well worth the money. I would recommend this club to golfers of any level. Great club that actually lives up to all the hype!
