Purchase: Found this unit on the web and thought it was a good idea. Pros: Not sure I really have any likes of the unit. Cons: Put the ball in and spin it for 20+ seconds, then mark the top, then mark a line around the unit. Okay, but if you put it back in and spin it again, the lines are now in a different path. So did it really find the center of gravity - I think not. When you put the marks on the ball - you MUST be VERY careful or the ink will just go everwhere! Quality: Unit made of plastic but seemed sturdy enough for what you are using it for. Review Summary: I would not recommend this product. If you wnat to put a putt mark on your ball (and you should - it really helps), just find one of those units that just puts a line on the ball, i.e. "Line-M-Up". Works and looks so much better.

Purchase: Van's Pro Shop; $29.95. I read the manufacturers write up about this product and thought it was a great concept. And, like others, if nothing else I thought I would end up with a great line for ball alignment on putts if nothing else. Pros: That I can return it and that the batteries came with it so I did not waste time or money buying them seperately. Cons: Even with practice and following the directions to the letter, it is impossible to draw a nice, thin straight line with this item. I let the ball spin for 20 seconds and marked a ball and all I got was a wide, partially filled line on my ball that looked more like the dotted line in the middle of the road than the pretty picture on the box. I ruined 6 brand new Pro V1's assuming I was doing something wrong. Since then I have had 4 other people try the device and none of them do any better. My balls look like my 4 year old took her marker set to them. At least I need practice balls Quality: construction quality is not bad. The main unit is well built. The cage that holds the ball could fit better. Review Summary: Don't bother. It is a great concept, but like my golf swing, fails in execution. You are better off spending $3 on the device that helps mark a line around your ball for putting and working on your swing plane to fix a slice than worrying about the center of gravity on your golf ball.
