Purchase: Wal Mart, cost came to approximately 50 cents per ball. As I said, we always considered golf too expensive. (Like horseback riding and windsurfing are cheap.) But we have discovered that, especially today with courses vying for new golfers, it can be quite reasonable. Municipal courses, executive courses, many public courses come in at $50 or less with a cart for 18 holes. And 9 holes walking is about the cheapest entertainment around. We've been looking to upgrade from buying used balls for 50 cents each to something a little better but still reasonable enough to not feel too bad about all those lost in the rough and water hazards.
Pros: I, the lady golfer, not surprisingly, have trouble achieving respectable distance. Someone gave me a found pink Volvik not long ago. (This guy wouldn't be seen dead hitting a pink ball so he gave it to the first lady he saw.) Well, I could hit that pink Volvik substantially further and I lusted to buy more until I found out they cost around $3 per ball. Sadly I resigned myself to used balls of any and all makes. It was at Wal Mart that while shopping for used balls, I noticed the Titech Gem Tones in an alluring pink package that boasted about the company's sponsorship of breast cancer research. The balls were obviously Volvik look alikes costing the same 50 cents more or less as used balls. How could I not give them a try? Well, they seem to me to work as well as the Volvik, and have boosted my confidence and lifted my game another notch or two. So, lady beginners, I recommend you give them a try!
Cons: I didn't find anything not to like. Now I'm not foolish enough to imagine the chances are good that they are that price and as good as the Volviks. I'm really just saying that for a beginner, whatever they lack compared with the Volviks, is not noticeable. And by the time I'm good enough to notice, I'll be good enough to send fewer balls out to pasture and not mind spending more for balls.
And then again, for all I know, maybe they're just as good as or even better than the Volviks.
Quality: This is all a mystery to me.
Review Summary: So all you who suffer the humiliation of always being "away," try Ti Tech's Gem Tones in the alluring pink package.
