On 2005-04-16, Rocketman rated this Titleist S45 Cart Bag a 3...(5398)
Purchase: I bought this bag from discount golf shop for $169.00 after giving up my carry bag for more room. The only time I carry my bag was from the trunk to the cart and back to the trunk. I finally stopped kidding myself that I was ever going to walk 18 holes again with my bag on my shoulder. My wife seemed to already know this fact, for some strange reason.
Pros: There's enough room in this bag to carry a 12-pack and two changes of clothes (with shoes). There are pockets and more pockets - 12 to be exact. I love being able to finally have a place for all my many accessories that help me play better. Of course, I pop a hernia every time I have to pick it up, but we all need an excuse on the first tee, right?
With classic Titleist looks and the nice embroidered logo, it's a show stopper and makes me feel somewhat like a pro. Wish I had a caddie, though...
Cons: I only have a couple of complaints about this bag, but they're big ones.
First, there's so many dang pockets, I can't remember where I put what. So, I have to keep a laminated cheat sheet to keep me from delaying play when someone wants a band-aid. Problem is, I forget which pocket I put the cheat sheet in!
Second, the plastic bottom of the bag is flimsy and distorts after being in the cart for a round and it won't stand up after taking it out of the cart. My golf buddies say I can't stand up either when I get out of the cart sometimes after deciding a six-pack back nine will help smooth out my swing.
The bag bottom will not bounce back easily. I exchanged it after using it a couple of times thinking it was defective, but the same thing happened again. Finally got tired of scratching my clubs and the side of my car and went back to my carry bag. Hey, stop shaking your heads! There's always hope, right???
Quality: Excellent quality we've all come to expect from Titleist. Stitching, zippers, and material are top notch. My only complaint is the flimsy plastic bag bottom.
Review Summary: If you don't mind your golf bag falling over, this might be your bag. The pockets and storage room is great. If I start missing it again, I may have to try out a true staff bag. Then maybe I can start bringing my own beer again.
