Purchase: As a gift Pros: The ball has tremendous spin especially on wedge shots, the best I have ever played for wedge shots. Cons: For me I would say I have a mis hit about 25 percent of the time, I've found that this ball and other 4 piece balls are very tempermental with mishits. The slightest mishit will send this ball anywhere. I can't afford that so I don't play the Pro V1. I have found a good 3 piece ball will hold up better with mishits while still having good spin for wedge shots. Quality: The quality and construction is good Review Summary: Basically if your not a great ball striker like the scratch golfers out there, this ball is probably not for you, I don't know about you but spending 45 $ on a dozen for something that hurts your game is not worth it. Good three piece balls that I love are, Top Flite Strata TL Tour, Callaway HX Red, and these two balls are 30 $ or less for a dozen, that is a deal for a great ball.

Purchase: Pro V1's are hands down, the best ball to hit if you are a mid to low handicapper with swing speed of 90-105. Pros: control and distance. Cons: price of course. Quality: Review Summary: On 2004-08-31, Ray Doiron rated this Titleist Pro V1 a 5...(4243)
Purchase: I was hitting balls at The Links At Montague on the driving range when I found a titleist Pro V1 in the group of balls. I heard that they were pretty good balls so I tried it out and I really enjoyed it. The Pro V1 has more spin than the Pro V1x which it good for landing it on the green on a par three when the flag is way at the back. Pros: I like to use the Pro V1 when the fairways are soft, the Pro V1 Rolls really far because it has more spin off of the clubface. It is very durable and lasts a long time before it gets scuffs. The Pro V1 has the same feel and spring off of the clubface as the Pro V1x but with more spin and thats why I like the Titleist Pro V1. Cons: The thing I don't like about the Titleist Pro V1's is the price $44.99 a dozen. Quality: The Titleist Pro V1 is soft and fast it has a 1.550 inch diameter core with speed enhancing and spin control. It is also soft and thin 0.030 inch urethane elastomer cover and a new 392 multi-dimple high coverage icosahedral design. The Pro V1 is very durable and is very long and is consistently straight from the tee to the green. Review Summary: I would say the Titleist Pro V1 is the best ball I've ever played. I think everyone should try this ball abd they will know it is a great golf ball! On 2004-07-06, golfer 2177 rated this Titleist Pro V1 a 4...(3841)
Purchase: Purchased these at a local golf retailer for $10 a sleeve. Pros: They seem to be really good off of the driver, especially if you have a swing speed over 90. Awesome check around the green and in bump in run situations, and the ball flight seems very adjustable. A very steady and consistent ball. Good durability as well. Cons: To be honest, if your swing speed is under 90, the NXT or DT So/LO may suit your game better. After a couple rounds I'm still undecided whether to play DT So/Lo's or Pro V1's. I actually thought the So/Lo's were a bit better off of my forged irons at my swing rate. I'm a 10-12 hadicap. However, I do think there is no comparison around the green. Quality: Typical Titleist, I could play all weekend with it. Review Summary: Great distance and consistency. You will hit it similar each time. Very good feel with long clubs at appropriate swing speeds. Unbelievable around the greens. However, this is not the end all for recreational golfers or even some amatures. Definately intended for low handicaps. On 2004-06-10, Todd (4.5 Index) rated this Titleist Pro V1 a 5...(3738)
Purchase: Target for $40. Love this ball, will never play another again. Heard about it from friends and found a bunch on the course for the initial try. Pros: Soft feel, nice for putting, chipping, love hitting long irons with it. Love working with the ball for spin and control on short shots. Easily gained 10-20 yards on my 3-wood (don't hit the driver anymore). Best part is playing with the equator. Many balls have the equator, this one just makes it simple to use. Tee it up under normal conditions or wind at your back and just smack the titleist logo. Have to it through the wind, just aim the Pro V1 392 logo with arrows in the direction you want to hit and let it rip. Creates different trajectories. Durability.. played 5 rounds with one ball. Cons: Nothing. People whine about the price, but they should just be quiet. $40 a dozen, played 1 box last season. If you have a high handicap and are wild, than play a diff ball. No wait play the Pro V, lose it and I will have more for my bag, thanks. People blow $500 for a driver they hit tops 15 times a round, but $3.60 for a ball you hit anywhere from 70-90 times and they complain. Quality: Top notch, can't cut it no matter what. Hit a cart path of a drive, no scuff. Review Summary: Good golfers will benefit with feel and workability. If you are a weekend warrior, play another ball if the price is to steep. Purchase: Bought a box at Las Vegas Golf here in Camarillo, CA for $44.95. I heard they were the greatest ball ever. Had to try for myself. Pros: The handwriting on the ball is pretty and the color of off-white is alright. Other than that, I was not very impressed Cons: The ball felt hard when I smacked it with my driver and I did not have the best control with it. I gave it a full 9 holes and after shooting an unimpressive 50, I tossed the ball in a lake and handed my buddy the remaining balls in the sleeve. Quality: The construction and quality seems good. No scuffs after 50 smacks, but it wasn't the god almightly product that I have heard all the pros and the low handicappers, blah, blah, blah, talk about. Review Summary: Bottom line is that for the remaining 9-holes I pulled out a Precept U-Tri Tour and proceeded to tear up the course. Finished the day at 90. Now... that is a ball. The Precept U-Tri Tour is lower price, better control, longer off the tee, softer feel, etc..
Yeah, I, like thousands of others got sucked into the Titleist marketing scam and pluckened down good money for a very, very over-rated ball.
Titleist... If you ever read these comments... That's the last time I play with your balls (no pun indended.)

Purchase: found a couple at my local golf course. Pros: this ball gets the most spin than any other ball ive played. great feel and distance. though the callaway hex is slightly longer. Purchase: Got a box as a birthday gift. Price tag was still on box, said $39.99. Yikes!! Pros: Amazing distance with the driver. Has an incredible soft feel with all clubs, but absolutely "rockets" off the driver. Good durability despite soft feel. Easy to spin the ball into the greens with short irons, and holds well with longer irons. Cons: Rather pricey. Quality: Great. No complaints. Durable cover material despite soft feel. Review Summary: The recent advances in golf ball technology are exemplified by this ball. Pricey but worth it. Has helped me add about 20 yards off the tee with my new Taylor made driver!! Purchase: Bought from my local proshop at a price of SD$79.00 per doz. Expensive compare to all other balls in the shelves. Pros: I like to feel of the ball and the slight off white colour makes it stands out.
The drive off the tee brings an extra 10 meters over my fellow golfers and they dun like it. hahaha
Pitching with this ballproduces the maximum spin that I never experience with.
Feeling during putting was great.
Hadlower my handicap from 21 to 15.
What more, the ball doesn't scuff and cut easily. Extremely durable. Value for money. Cons: Nothing Quality: Review Summary: On 2003-02-22, chris underwood rated this Titleist Pro V1 a 5...(974)
Purchase: i acquired these balls from my local golf shop looking for an overall better ball than i was playing befor. that would be the topflite xl 3000 super soft by the way. Pros: ok i love this ball. it easily goes about 10 yards furthar than the xl 3000 i used to play. i needed a ball that went far and didnt spin 10 feet back every time i hit the green. which this ball didnt do. it will spin around the greens as much as the v1 but less off the driver and irons. great ball. Cons: the only thing i doent like about the ball is....... um buying more. lol. this is the best ball i have played. the only down side would be the price. i paid 10.00 dollars for a sleev but it is worth it if you want to play your best. Quality: this is one of the best quality balls out right now. i played the same ball 2 rounds and it has yet to cut or scuff. vary well built inmo. Review Summary: if your playing the pro v1 and want about 5 to 8 more yards and a little less spin on the ball* this is the ball for you.
* for drop and stop spin. the most i have spun this ball would be about 5 feet with a pw. On 2002-10-28, A well connected Everyman rated this Titleist Pro V1 a 5...(730)
Purchase: I am a member of an extraordinarily exclusive East Coa st Club. All the members are very discriminating and, like me, they are very hard to impress. The Pro V1 fits in at our club - it is the best and performs under the most demanding situations. I recently turned a former Cabinet Member in Slick Willy's admin into and advid, if not rabid fan. He in turn networked me into some of the finest tail you could imagine. I'm sold on the power of this golf ball. Pros: It is a high performing ball that advances social position at exclusive venues. Cons: Nothing Quality: Who gives a hoot, it performs. As slick Willy's boy always says "the end justifies the means fella's". Review Summary: Great distance off the tee, even greater distance when placed in the hands of one in position to advance your cause. The finest result I have ever had in leveraging higher quality "tail thrust". On 2002-09-17, William McGreevy rated this Titleist Pro V1 a 5...(562)
Purchase: My boss, the Head Pro at the course i work at in Cleveland, OH gave me a sleeve to try out, so they were free, but the next 3 dozens werent. Pros: It feels great, it is easily the best ball that i ever played, it spins nice and looks sharp, the ball flight is usually great, but i get a few dead shots with them. It goes 5-10yds farther than any ball i ever used, also has good workability. Cons: The off-whit color, its subtle, but its there, i like pure white balls better, its almost greyish, not much to hate except that some shots seem dead, for instance i hit a 7 iron 170, but at the top of the flight it just dies and drops about 10 yds short, not good, but that is rare, maybee 1 - 2 shots a round. Quality: Will go good for about 6 18-Hole rounds, and is above average at taking cart path hits, but durable and reliable. Review Summary: I cant complain about any ball that lowers your handicap, I am an 8 from a twelve, and dont think any ball will lower that more, now it is physical play and mental thinking. I am still going to try the Maxfli a 10 and the new hogan ball, I have tried the Maxfli Revolution Solid and the Pro V1 is definately better, still one of the best balls out there and i have a feeling its not going to leave my bag for a long time. Purchase: Country Club, $36 per dozen. Pros: The Pro V1 is the best ball I have ever played. It is long, feels soft, and putts well. I believe that you are at a disadvantage if you dont play this ball. Cons: Nothing. Quality: The ball is extremely durable, it doesn't cut at all. Review Summary: Best ball on the market! Purchase: For $54 a case at most stores, you see more professionals playing this ball than any other. Pros: 1) Despite abuse, the casing on the ball holds up really well to wear and tear.
2) Distance is impressive.
3) It is easy to get this ball into the air off the tee. Cons: The price will scare most amateurs Quality: Unless you buy the practice or x-outs, most balls are balanced well and have no problems on the outer core. Review Summary: Price is highest on the market, but I never hit the ball as consistent with any other ball. On 2002-08-11, Gary McCandless rated this Titleist Pro V1 a 5...(385)
Purchase: Pro shop for $37. Were on sale and I had heard a lot about them, so I decided to try them. Pros: Excellent feel around the green and on the green. I am a believer. Cons: Price is way to high for the average Joe to buy on a regular basis. Quality: Excellent quality and construction. Also make a blemished practice version fo about $27 / dozen. Review Summary: Excellent game improvement ball. If you want to shave some stokes off your game, try these balls. On 2002-07-25, Sam Mittal rated this Titleist Pro V1 a 4...(310)
Purchase: I have been playing golf seriously for about a year now and have gone from about a 25-30 handicapper to about 7-8 at my local golf course. So i decided to try the Pro V1 as i had heard that many pros play with this ball. I bought a dozen balls for about $60 through the Pro Shop at my local golf course in New Delhi, India. Pros: The best thing I like about the Pro V1 is that the ball offers fantastic control, not only in the drive but more in the 50-100 yard pitch. If you can master playing this ball, you will find a drop of 4-5 strokes per round easily. Cons: The only drawback i find is its dull greyish color. A little hard to spot in deep rough, I would like to see it in bright white or even the fluoroscent yellow. Quality: If you pay close attention, you will see the dimples on the ball are arranged in a particular pattern. If you place the ball along the ridge that says Pro V1 you will get more distance versus if you place it along the line that says Titleist you will get more back spin.
I have played over 4 rounds with 1 ball and it still looks pretty good with no scratches or cuts. Review Summary: All in all I think the Pro V1 is meant for players who are looking for more control and spin in their shots. Obviously this means they must have a low handicap and are looking to lower it furthur. Highly recommended but look for deals where you can get them cheaper. Purchase: I was given 1 dozen Pro-V 1's as a gift and I can tell you that when the time comes I will be spending the money on replenishing my stock of balls with these ones. Pros: Being a 12 handicapper, I had thought that this ball was made for the lower handicap player but as I hit my first shot I new it was the ball for me. Off the tee it goes much further than I was hitting previously and I am hitting more fairways than ever before. I am more confident when playing into the greens and find myself attacking greens with fairway woods almost every time as I know this ball will hold the green better than any other. Cons: The price (when I have to pay it) is on the high side but you are paying for quality. Quality: The only point on this is that they are the most durable ball yet and I get 5 or 6 rounds out of a ball. Otherwise the construction is no concern of mine as they work for me. Review Summary: Expensive but worth every penny. Helps build your confidence from tee to green. Anybody want any used smartcores? On 2002-04-18, jmaclaine rated this Titleist Pro V1 a 5...(62)
Purchase: Found my first Pro V1 in a ditch as I was leaving my local practice facility. Decided to give it a try for as long as I could on my next round. Pros: WOW! I played the entire round with this ball and I still cannot believe how much I liked it. Drives where long and straight. Irons felt just the way I like them to feel. What I cannot get over is the way the check up on the green. I used to play Titleist Professionals back when I was in a position to play almost every day and my handicap got to well under 10. Recently my oportunities to play have been limited and my handicap has been elevated back up to almost 14. That being the case, I could not justify the cost of premium balls and have been using what are supposed to be the best of the less expensive ones. I guess those days are over. The way these things bite on chips as well as full iron shots to the greens is just amazing. I'm a not very long off the tee, so I really need a ball that will bite even when I hit a mid iron or even a seven or five wood to the green. This ball does so even better than I remember the professionals doing. Cons: Obviously the price. I am encouraged to think that since the ball seems so durable, buying them used may be an option with merit. I might also complain about the color. I read somewhere that Titleist intentionaly makes them an off white in order to harken back to the days of the true Balatas. I would prefer them more white. Quality: Well made and extremely durable. Review Summary: If you demand a premium ball as I now do again, you might as well have the best. This is it. I know that most golfers could do just as well with something cheaper, but there is just somthing special about knowing that you have the best there is in your bag. Purchase: After all the hype from the tour.. I decided to give this pill a try...at only $80 CAN a dozen.. tax incl., mind you, it was hard to resist. The local proshop had dumped out the cigar case and locked the ProV1's inside instead. Pros: The distance and durability of the ball is amazing... I had used Titleist SF before and I would guess a 5% increase in distance and they last for a good 5 or 6 rounds without losing performance... and they NEED to at that price!
Into the wind, I was also pleasantly surprised at the distance... and yes "seeming" also "seems" to keep the distance up there. Cons: The price may be prohibitive at first glance, but the fact that they last so long makes the relative cost acceptable. Quality: I don't give a flying fig about how this thing is put together ... if it works... that's enough for me.
The quality is good, though I have found a few paint/cover flaws on occasion. Review Summary: The investment is worth it.. I use it with a 975D driver and the combo is great. Buy a dozen! .. If you don't like it, just send me the 11 unused ones :-)
